On 25 November 2025, Deadline Hollywood broke exclusive news that the Australian actor Toby Wallace had joined the cast as the series' co-lead after finishing filming his scenes in the 2019 American TV series Euphoria's third season. In that same announcement, Deadline revealed that production was expected in Italy at some point the next year, the series' time period was still undetermined, and that its characters would be separate from the games' many protagonists.[22] Shortly after, on 11 December, Variety reported that Irish actor Lola Petticrew had also joined in an unspecified capacity[23] after they[24] finished filming the lead role in the 2024 Northern Irish TV adaptation of Louise Kennedy's 2022 novel Trespasses.[23]
