Worker's Necropolis

The Worker's Necropolis was a necropolis in Set-Ma'at, serving as a burial ground for the workers who worked on the massive tombs in the Valley of the Kings behind the village. The architect Thutmose who served under the pharaoh Nefertiti was buried in a tomb beneath the necropolis.

Around 38 BCE, the necropolis was visited by the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa, who followed a trail of Nefertiti's relic given by the thief Irsu. There, he came across a number of bandits looking for the thief who had stolen the relic from his uncle at the relic auction. After eliminating the thugs and discovering a small cavern that the thief had hid in, Bayek chased down the thief to a tomb hidden beneath the necropolis.[1]

After discovering the thief to be Sutekh, Bayek convinced him to hand over the relic so he could personally bring the soul of Nefertiti to rest. At the same time, he also explored the tomb belonging to Thutmose.[1]
