I wanted to ask you something. Which is… what's your name? The title of this article is conjecture. Although the subject of this article is canon, no official name for it has been given. |
The Venice vault is an Isu vault found below the Basilica di San Marco in Venice, Italy. It once housed part of Vejovis' dagger.
History[]
In the 1480s, while on a quest to locate an item for the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins, Giulia discovered the entrance to the vault hidden behind a tapestry, locked by a puzzle which she managed to solve. In the vault's main chamber, a hologram of the Isu Vejovis appeared, instructing Giulia to hide the half of the dagger deeper within the vault, so the "spectator" could get it in their time.[1]
In the 2020s, after reliving Giulia's memories, Joey revealed to Colm that part of the dagger was in the Venice vault[1] and Colm left to book their flights to Venice. When arriving at the Basilica, the pair found the entrance Giulia had used, still hidden behind a tapestry, and opened the way into the vault. Upon finding a case with the half of the dagger hidden by Giulia, Colm betrayed Joey, kicking him off the platform they were in into the emptiness below, though Joey managed to hold on without Colm noticing.[2]
Joey climbed back up, using the moving blocks in the vault as handholds, and positioned himself on a pillar above Colm, who could not find a way to unlock the case. By the time Colm looked up, Joey was already on his way down with a sharp piece of metal on his hand to kill Colm, though a vision broke Joey's concentration and when he came to, he was on the floor and Colm had blocked the attack. A loud noise from the entrance caught Colm's attention and allowed Joey to charge him. Colm, however, managed to overpower Joey and ordered him to solve the puzzle and open the case where the dagger was. Joey complied, moving away from the opened case when it was done, keeping Colm's attention on him for long enough to Alera to come in and assassinate him.[2]
With Colm dealt with, Joey put the two halves of the blade together, causing a blinding flash of light to erupt. After Joey said Vejovis' name out loud, a hologram of the Isu appeared, congratulating Joey on bringing the two parts of the dagger together and making it possible for him to become corporeal again. Alera tried to attack the hologram but Vejovis made Joey swipe at her before revealing that he was one of his Sages, and that by reliving the memories of his other Sages and connecting the blades, Vejovis' being would bleed into Joey's before long. To stop this process from happening, Joey tried to separate the blades, shattering one half of it, and destroyed the part of the pedestal that the hologram was coming from. After that, Joey and Alera decided to leave before the Templars got there, with Joey taking the intact half of the blade.[2]
