Welcome

Hi, welcome to Assassin's Creed Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Useful links page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- JoePlay (Talk) 16:49, October 28, 2009

Admin

Wow... I would be honored to. A crash-course on adminship would be handy, but just point me where I need to go and I'll handle it. ;D -- D. Cello 23:02, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks ;D. Just one question, please: On that help page you send me there's a section about deleting pages that says "listed on VfD for 5 days with 18 votes to delete and 1 to keep". What is VfD and how do I call a vote to delete a page? In question, would be this one that seems to be a purely fanboy self promoted page - http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed:_The_Beginning_(2009)

Vandalism reply

Ay, ay, sir. Fixed notoriety and checking with editors the veracity of the quotes. Shall have a response soon. -- D. Cello 02:26, November 22, 2009 (UTC)

Main Page

Hey, I was wondering how the "Featured Article" and "Featured Media" works. How to change it, schedule articles for a day or week, writing a different summary instead of just placing the top lines of the article and things like that. Could you help me with that, please? -- D. Cello 17:52, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

Characters and Actors

Great, I've been thinking in a template to game-character's page as well, try to do it soon. Additionally, I think the new quote template don't highlight the quotes too much. Since you done it, you want it to be leaved that way? -- D. Cello 18:42, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

The new quote template has been causing some disturbance in articles like this one: http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed_II_Quotes It removes context and info and leaves only the quotes. I really don't like it. =/ -- D. Cello 15:35, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
By any chance, I think we already have the template for character page, right? or am I missing something? - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:45, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
We have, but it isn't standard. Some characters have actors links, some have weight, some have equipment, some have only name, appearance and location. -- D. Cello 17:05, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
If you mean Template:Character Infobox, this template is mainly created for the first game. As the characters in the second game is slightly different from the first game, are you planning to create another new template for the characters in AC 2? - SilverSummonerTaLk 17:12, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
No, just set one to be used by all characters articles. There's essential info avaiable to characters from both games, we just have to select the ones relevant and modify the template. -- D. Cello 17:18, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
I see... shall I leave the character template to you, then?
I have another concern though... the categorizing system. Honestly, it's quite confusing. I did implement a categorizing system here (although still not perfect) but I guess I have to start over again~ - SilverSummonerTaLk 17:27, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, tell me about it ¬¬ We've had more categories created by second than Uncle Scrooge has of money. I cleaned all the duplicated and useless categories and organized the critical assassins part. What are your ideas about the categorizing system? (best answer on my page =P)
And give a shot at the character template if you want to. ;D -- D. Cello 17:49, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

FA and GA

Hey, Nik. I need help editing two templates, the Featured article indicator and the Good article indicator. Specifically, I'ld need to put it in the same line than the name's page (like [ArticleName]_________________________[icon] ). You know how to do it? -- D. Cello 23:46, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Improv team

Hey, Wag. I need to talk to you about something. With the succesfull (and on-going) implementation of Good/Featured Article Status, there are articles who need work and pages which quality should be mantained. So, I'm thinking about putting together a team of heavy contributors and good editors to monitor, improve and make sure the good and featured articles remain that way and increases in number.
Please give me a answer asap on this, man, so I can get the ball roling. ;D -- D. Cello 00:45, December 23, 2009 (UTC)

The ball is rolling. I've recruited 4 members, 3 answered already, all positive. This is the ImprovTeam page, there are info about it and a list of members. I was wondering if and how can we use the Wikia Gaming IRC? -- D. Cello 17:27, December 24, 2009 (UTC)
Wag, can I grant rollback rights to the Istruttori? Give them something more to work with and a little inspiration as well? -- D. Cello 14:16, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

MediaWiki

Wag, how do I change the "welcome new-users" thing and "site notice" announciations? I heard it has something to do with MediaWiki, but I can't find any specific info. -- D. Cello 16:43, December 26, 2009 (UTC)

Pardon me, cap'n. You can go to MediaWiki:Sitenotice and just click the edit button and type your message in there. :D - SilverSummonerTaLk 16:49, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
  • Yep, Silver is exactly right in here you go about doing it.

Okay, and what about the new-users thing? How change it? Mediawiki welcome didn't change it. -- D. Cello 18:17, December 26, 2009 (UTC)

Bureaucraut

Hey. Wag, think I could be made bureaucraut? That would give me a bit more mobility here, make things easier. I´ve had ideas about what could be done to improve morale and integration here at the community that would be a lot more easier to accomplish that way. -- D. Cello 22:05, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! ;D -- D. Cello 22:20, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Saw that we've had a 40% increase in readership? =D -- D. Cello 21:23, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Check

Hey, thanks. ;D I first have to find a reliable source of AC news and then start posting them... Things are going smooth, the wiki is progressing and people are starting to integrate more and more. There's one think I would like to ask: at Wookiepedia, they have a featured article system where the pages are scheduled to each week days earlier. It would be handy to know if it's automatic or manual written, and how it works, so we can try to do somethign similar here. You know, if it's possible. -- D. Cello 03:41, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

Wag, I'm having a problem at the Istruttorium Forums... Zwoosh created a topic via the creat box, but it hasn't appear. You know how to fix it, pls? =x -- D. Cello 05:09, December 25, 2009 (UTC)

But he even made a post, and I did a post too. =/ -- D. Cello 03:04, December 26, 2009 (UTC)

I've found the problem, but don't know how to fix it. The posts created by the creat box don't add a category automatically like watercooler's one, so the post don't appear at the istruttorium forum. -- D. Cello 18:37, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

Since during my holiday leave the wiki was overrun by vandalism and thingsl ike it, I've made SilverSummoner admin. Like you said, two active admins are a good thing. Hope it's okay. =] -- D. Cello 17:39, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Wag, I need help. I can't see to find a way to change the licensing options in the Upload File Special Page. Like, I waana remove some options from the list and add others. How can I do it?? =x -- D. Cello 21:22, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

But other wikis like Wookiepedia and Halopedia have different licensing from ours and from one another. -- D. Cello 19:19, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Silver found it. It involves editing a MediaWiki page. Here's her post. Thanks Wag. =] -- D. Cello 02:34, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, Wag! Long time, huh, how are things? -- D. Cello 17:22, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Walkthrough

I can't really help with wrting the guide, but I've just categorized it in missions on a private page similar to IGN's guide, take a look: User:D. Cello/sandbox/ac2walktest -- D. Cello 01:14, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Eee, I suppose I should've written my response about your walkthrough thoughts here. Anyway, my plan was to sit down with my laptop and a new replay and tackle it. I'd really enjoy working on it, but I have to study for my finals, which are next week. So I'm for sure good on actually doing it as opposed to just saying I'm thinking about it, it's just that the earliest I could start on it would be next week. (: --Aftyn 07:37, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Wow, that's great! That was super fast, haha. I did the first mission of the first sequence just to sorta show my initial thoughts in the direction I was going to go. Lemme know if what I was thinking is way too detailed or spoiler ridden (at least, with future missions and their cutscenes, has the potential to be spoiler ridden) for the type of walkthrough you had in mind, or if you'd like me to add said details. Sandbox page for it is here: http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/User:Aftyn/sandbox It'd be explained in the beginning of the page, but within the >>Mission Title<< area, italic text is cutscene goings-on while the regular text is the more 'walkthrough' aspect of it. Links to pages about people/places/etc. where appropriate, of course, but I didn't include them since the sandbox is, well, just the sandbox, haha. (: --Aftyn 10:15, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Well, some walkthroughs are created intentionally spoiler-free, so I was just checking. Perhaps, if we're super ambitious, we could create one with spoilers, and then modify that one to make it spoiler-free for a second option for anyone who comes to the wiki searching for a walkthrough. Though we should have at least one finished before we even think about creating a second one, haha. But yeah, I'll get onto embellishing the walkthrough as soon as I get time. (: --Aftyn 01:11, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

I'd just like to apologize for being slow about improving II's walkthrough. Family stuff came up and I didn't get the time I had planned on to sit down and move through the game again. Anyway, I've started working on it. I think I'll end up editing the page after I finish an entire sequence, rather than one mission at a time, that way I can incorporate the text that's already in the article. With that, the work that's already been done on the walkthrough won't be all for nothing. --Aftyn 07:40, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

Userboxes

Any way you could explain how to make custom user boxes copyable, and how to put a picture on both sides of the userbox? If so go to my page. Thanks! ^_^ Spoonodeath 22:49, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I would like to know how the skin of this website is transparent to the background. Perhaps the HTML code? Thanks.--58SlugDrones! 17:42, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, thanks!--58SlugDrones! 04:21, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Nic, we would love to participate in this promotion.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 17:37, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

AWB

Could you please stop the AWB edits. It's replacing the image text and editing typos in user talkpages.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 17:32, September 21, 2012 (UTC)

Options

Fourth option for this, Rashid ad-Din Sinan.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 19:32, October 19, 2012 (UTC)

Re:A Few Content Questions

We've always thought individual articles for achievements are pointless. Every achievement can be described in a single sentence, and articles just to describe is pointless unless a walkthrough is added. Since most achievements do not require any elaborate walkthroughs, we decided to write a guide on how to obtain them is a sub-page.

As for inter-wiki links, it was decided by the staff to before me to not use them and the current staff have decided to continue with this decision. The decision was reached when we found out that wikis are trying to be a carbon copy of this wiki by copying us to in every single detail and failing to attribute us for the content and images. Most content are just translated versions. We may consider inter wiki links, if the other wikis consider individuality.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 13:37, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Launch Pack

Seeing as you did not respond to my message earlier yet you went ahead and undid my edit, I will just post my message here again to await your reply; This is not a decision Vatsa decided with me on and thus I do not have to share his point of view. The only thing he says there is that it is fine to place it on the main page, not that any place will suffice. I am not okay with favoring it over the news section in regard to it having the top spot. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 07:31, October 30, 2012 (UTC)

I'm as much 'dictating' its positioning as you are. Vatsa is not the only bureaucrat on this Wiki, and I don't see why his word alone would be enough to make a significant change like this, even more so when both bureaucrats do not agree. I have yet to see where exactly it is Vatsa said "place it where you want" though. I would be fine with placing it above the news section if this was actually discussed, preferably not between just the bureaucrats, before it was placed and a consensus would be reached from that discussion. Now it's come to two heads butting against one another. If you are willing to convince me to have it positioned above the news section then I am open to such a discussion - please just don't undo my edit again before giving me a chance to reply to your message. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:03, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
