Why AC: Pirates don't deserve it's own template? Maxattac (talk) 15:48, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

As I've mentioned, we're working on switching to in-universe navboxes. Limiting the articles that have templates in the midst of the switch saves us time later when it comes to removing them. Same thing with the ACU template. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 15:50, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
When this change will take place ? Because I find the Templates really useful to compile and quickly find all the informations about a game. Maxattac (talk) 16:08, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

Storm, did you have the dialogue of Black Flag's present day missions in your sandbox? I thought you did but I couldn't find anything in any of the four. Did it get transferred to an article? Thanks for reading Crook The Constantine District 17:44, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Charles Sivert

Hi! I wanted to talk about the recently edit-reverted article on Charles Gabriel Sivert. I understand that there may be doubts about the accuracy of the article, but I took a screenshot with my phone of the gameplay of the level by one of the game designers and used what information I took from the video. I am confident that my information was secure, as it was in an official single-player gameplay video that was released (it is one of the videos on the page for Assassin's Creed: Unity). If the information is somehow different in another rendition of the game, the picture at least is 100% official, as it was taken directly from the video. Since you are an administrator, I will do what ever you wish, but I simply ask for your consideration about at least keeping the image (or, better yet, restoring my edit). Thank you! Saving Private Ryan (talk) 00:18, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

Hey SPR, I appreciate you contacting me instead of just reverting. First, as indicated in the message I left on your talk page back in December, all images uploaded to the wiki must be sourced on the image itself. However, as you've just admitted to taking the picture with your phone, the image is deemed low-quality and will not be used; if you can find a high-quality version of that image, you can upload it with proper sourcing. Onto the other matter: the information. Many of released demos for AC games have either not made it into the final game or have been altered in some way. While we are aware that Sivert is a Templar in the game, anything else in the demo could be merely for the demo's sake and not canon. Again, thank you for taking the time to talk to me about it. Properly tagging image source?

Hi there, I recently uploaded a couple of images and didn't source them properly (sorry about that) but after reading the image rules I'm not sure if they're allowed. They are the artworks for the soundtracks, the source is iTunes and I can get anything from there in the absolute maximum resolution for you.

Please let me know exactly how to tag or even if I should and I get right on it - just want to help! unsigned comment by TheTrueHeresy (talk · contr)

Hey, TheTrueHeresy. Thanks for contacting me about this; I know the image-sourcing policy can be a bit confusing. Truth be told, I avoided uploading images, when I first started out, just to avoid having to deal with all the red tape. I can help you out with one of them and you can go from there.

This is the template used to source all images. Simply edit the image and place it in the source code; be sure to remove the Delete template I have placed on it. As far as the actual "source" criteria, if there's an available website to backtrack to, make sure to include it; it helps if users other than yourself can find where you got the image. The message I left on your talk-page should help with any general questions you may have, but if it doesn't, don't be hesitant to contact me again. Also, remember to sign your posts with ~~~~. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 23:36, August 25, 2014 (UTC)

Hey there, I had a go at uploading the first OST cover again with your advice - please tell me if it's up to standard. I am trying to get the exact URL of the image and can update that as soon as I've found it also? If this one's OK I'll go ahead and upload the rest - there's a few that aren't on the Wiki at all so far. --TheTrueHeresy (talk) 21:01, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Looks good. I made some modifications, so all that's missing is the actual iTunes site, which you can edit into the link. Also, there's no need for the Attention slot, since it's not an edited version of a previous image or anything of the sort. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:13, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Sunset Overdrive

Okay, it shouldn't be in the main page because it relates more to SO than AC. So, how about the trivia section? There is none now, but it would definitely make sense to make one and put that in there. It has to do with AC at least somewhat, right? OutrightUndead (talk) 04:27, August 31, 2014 (UTC)

Not really, because again, that point focuses on Sunset Overdrive. You could Google the "controversy" and find numerous articles from different developers, celebrities, or websites giving their own two cents. Each has about as much reason to be in place of that one, and all of them don't have much of a reason to be on the page. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 04:32, August 31, 2014 (UTC)

Grammar (periods inside quotations)

I recall you saying that periods don't go inside quotations. While, without even searching, I found two articles with the opposite style in place (A.K.A. the proper way of writing).

Coolguysdontlookatexplosions (talk) 05:48, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure if there's actually a policy on this. The wiki uses American spelling, that much I know. However, a lot of the frequent contributors here have been taught to use British spelling and grammar. I for one refuse to adopt the "periods go inside quotations" system, because it does not make sense from a grammatical point of view. The only situation when it's legit is the following:
"I don't know what you're talking about," he said.
Because here we are talking about a full sentence. However, American grammar insists on always jamming comma's and periods in between quotation marks, even when it's blatantly obvious that those comma's and periods are not part of the semantic content that stands between quotations marks. They serve a grammatical function in the overarching sentence, not that one piece of quoted material.
I'd hardly consider American grammar the proper way of writing, merely a way of writing. Crook The Constantine District 07:49, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
Lol. He never told me there was an actual policy on it. He just said, "You can check other articles if you want. We use the other version to what you're used to."  Coolguysdontlookatexplosions (talk) 17:02, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
"We" refers to the wiki as a whole, meaning, in most cases, that there is a policy involved. I thought there was a forum vote for a it at some point, but I can't seem to find it in Nesty's archives. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 17:05, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

UndeadHero (talk) 23:20, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

Sima recently requested videos of Abstergo stuff from AC4. While you have those on video, I don't think it's just that, meaning you have other footage of just wandering around and collecting it. Could you record those things in a separate vid, and then put them up on your channel? Just mark the video as "unlisted" afterwards, so people won't see it unless you give out the link, which will be given to us here.

It's gonna get you views too. My vid of the ACB's Miracle file is still up on The Truth page, and skyrocketing. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 00:14, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

Sure, I can record it tomorrow. What exactly am I looking for, and should I do them all in one video or separate ones? Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:28, November 1, 2014 (UTC)
In his exact words "Any and all images/videos from the Abstergo files and Documents sections of the Animus database." I can get the images, so I'll leave all the videos to you. The autopsy, surrogate tapes, phone records, trailers, the whole shebang. Personally I'd dump it into one video, but knowing Sima, he'd want them separate for each. Check with him to be sure. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:01, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

could you please explain to me why did you remove the picture i uloaded???.....that is why i was asking you to help me........Jayam (talk) 05:52, November 4, 2014 (UTC)

I sent you a message on how to source images. If that doesn't work, open an image uploaded by a senior editor (myself, Kain and Crook come to mind), copy the template used and change the information. If you captured an image straight from the game, the source would be the game you got it from. If you got it from a website, the source would be that website. Ubisoft is usually the author of most images uploaded to the wiki. Also, check edit summaries, as they usually indicate why an edit was reverted. Also also, calm down. There's no need to ask the same question to 5 different people. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 06:02, November 4, 2014 (UTC)

Abstergo Entertainment research analyst isn't exactly a real name but in the game itself they called him the Initiate. That name is from the game itself and it has not yet been released to the public but The source information I got is at September 2014. Arno and Élise became an article before the game is officially released. --Cococrash11 (talk) 00:15, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

That's not the point. Abstergo Entertainment research analyst is a definitive name. "Initiate" can refer to any one of the many initiates, some of which we already have articles for. Also, who's to say this person actually does something in the game? The research analyst actually interacts with the environment. As far as I've seen, you're just one-way talking to some chick. We'll wait til we can find both a better name and an actual reason for the article to exist. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:19, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

I don't understand what you're saying. They didn't exactly call the Silent Protagonist in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Abstergo Entertainment research analyst in the game. Isn't the name conjecture I mean at one time it was actually called R-L and there was no such name in the game. While in the Assassin's Creed: Unity they call him Initiate which is much more concrete in Black Flag. So you're saying unless he appears moving around exploring like Research Analyst he doesn't count as a real character. So how do they tell the Modern Day stories. --Cococrash11 (talk) 00:41, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, AERA is a conjectural name, but it's the best we got. "Initiate" is not the individual's name, as any one of the Initiates can be called that. I'm not saying he/she is not important. I'm saying we don't have anything to go on for an actual article to be necessary. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:46, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Could they not be termed as the "Helix initiate"? That would at least specify their role somewhat. Slate Vesper (talk) 01:30, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

My recent edits.

I also checked the credits in a walkthrough and it is confirmed to be Tod Fennell. When are spoilers allowed to be posted, per Wikia time, that is? I'm ready to start getting more content on here. I'm not entirely sure what the plan is, whether we're holding off til Thursday for everyone to get it or tonight with the first official release. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 02:46, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
Hm. I assume that as soon as midnight hits, for everyone, there will be tons of spoilers. Information tends to show up on first release, on different Wikias that I've seen. It's going to be a busy few days, with all of the new articles and such. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 03:34, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
Undoubtedly. I'm just trying to be mindful to everyone that doesn't live in the US so it's not spoiled for them. Meanwhile, I'm trying to kill an hour with a quick supper. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 03:37, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
I understand. Perhaps spoiler alerts, to help assist with that. All I intend to add is very minor edits, as before, like appearances, or, voice actors, until I know for sure that the big spoilers are okay. Do you know if there will be a place to check for when it's okay to add massive spoilers? Roger Murtaugh (talk) 03:40, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
We were discussing it earlier on the IRC, but in this, our final hour, everyone seems to be MIA. We'll have to get back to you on that. Also, I apologize for the abruptness. I think it's safe now for minor things like that. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 03:43, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
Excellent. What I added earlier is confirmed. I understand that I'll have to wait a few to add it. Thankfully not too long. I like adding in the minor things that some overlook, sometimes. No apology necessary. My apologies for causing a little more extra work. I can imagine how busy it must be getting having to revert everything. I'll keep an eye out, here, for updates. Thanks for being patient with all of my queries. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 03:49, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
If I'm not mistaken, I can add minor edits, now? Such as actors and such? I want to be sure that you meant this hour and not the next one. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 04:00, November 11, 2014 (UTC)
I don't think an hour is going to make a huge difference. Yeah, just the minor stuff. Avoid spoilers in the edit summaries, obviously. Stormbeast The Helpful Place
No problem. I'll add actors and some appearances, if they aren't a huge plot point. I don't want to have massive spoilers, anywhere. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 04:05, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

  4. The file name is unacceptable.
  5. The image itself is unsourced. Telling me the source does nothing.
Stormbeast The Helpful Place 04:27, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, i dont want to do all that. I just came to add the picture, so that you guys can edit it how you like.

Hi.  I noticed you recently deleted my page I constructed on Camille and added its introduction to another page, which I noticed also focuses on Camille.  Did the page on Camille that you moved my writing to exist before I created my Camille page, and I simply wasn't aware of it?  I would appreciate if you could explain the reason.  Thank you.

I suppose because, although Camille was a figure of the French Revolution, - a figure I personally admire, - he was never confirmed as a character within Unity, therefore having a page dedicated to his existence and infleunce during the French Revolution would be entirely unnecessary.   I believe I now understand why you chose to delete the majority of my writing, which is fine.  I simply wanted people interested in Camille and his connection with the French Revolution to be further educated on the subject, but I realize now that only topics which appear within the Assasin's Creed games should be featured within the Wiki.

Forgive me for composing the page on Camille, then.  I am very new to this Wiki.  I just became a member of it today, in fact.  I searched this Wiki for a page on Camille, couldn't find one, and being the history nerd that I am I was very excited to write some of what I've studied about about him on a Wiki.  But I am aware of how it works now.

Adding an image

Sorry about that. I can't seem to add that source box to the image itself. The only option for adding text to a picture is the caption box that I see, and I know that's not right. Where exactly do I put the source box?GoldenBoy99 (talk) 19:25, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

To source an image, you need to edit the image's page itself. For example, if I wanted to add a source to this, I would open the page, click edit, and then use the source box. --Crimson Knight Intercom 19:31, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

Whatchu mean the key had other uses? Did I miss something or is it one of those super-obscure Initiates tidbits nobody knows about? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 00:29, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Nononono. I guess I should have been clearer; Crimson thought the same thing. It said that the Key was the only known PoE with no power. But the Precursor box and Voynich manuscript, also PoE, have no power, making the point moot. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:39, November 23, 2014 (UTC)
Manuscript I agree. But the box does have power, it projects a 3D world map with the Temple locations when the manuscript is processed through it. Granted you had to zap it with external power source to activate it, but still. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 04:10, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Don't edit in visual mode?

I use my android phone for internet (wikia) access. Is the wikia classic editor acceptable, or would I have to edit the source? I'd probably have to quit editing or learn HTML to do the latter. Jasonnorthrup (talk) 17:09, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

Classic editor would be your best bet - you can always use preview to see how it'll look visually. Crook The Constantine District 17:31, November 26, 2014 (UTC)
So, to recap, I'm using classic now, I think, and by default. It has a "visual" tab and a "source" tab, and either would be acceptable, but not "VisualEditor", which I don't use anyway, since it doesn't interface well with Chrome on this device. Jasonnorthrup (talk) 17:45, November 26, 2014 (UTC)

I went with the first weapons in the slots, which I assumed were the ones he was given in-game. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:34, December 2, 2014 (UTC)
Wait. Officer's Saber and Arno's Pistol are both level 4 weapons. You have to buy them later on, ergo, customization. Why would we use those for canon shots? Ed's swords are exclusive content as well. So it's not really my goof, just your way of viewing canon. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:43, December 2, 2014 (UTC)
Becauseeeeeee it's what he's shown with in official material. And imma go with that. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:45, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, it's bad enough you plan on doing that once Arno dons the robes, but using the wrong sword beforehand?...and the pistol before it's even possible to use one. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 01:46, December 11, 2014 (UTC)

Blame the pistol skill for not being unequippable. Also blame Ubi for giving this game only one save slot, so I can't just make another fresh start and have my complete save for later missions. Will eventually rectify these small errors, once I can take screens at proper framerate, hopefully after the next patch. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:54, December 11, 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough. Still trying to find a way around the "one save file" crap to record the Paris Stories and Cafe Theatre missions I missed. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 02:03, December 11, 2014 (UTC)

Image Sourcing

My bad. I'll upload images with proper sources from now on. Also I think since some Rogue character do not have proper render if it would be okay to upload some of the artwork that best depicts them as the image in the infobox. The Dark Master (talk) 07:40, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

In Hope's case, that would be the concept art in her gallery. The one you uploaded still had shadow between her feet and some kind of glow around her. I believe her current infobox image was added so people know what she looks like in-game. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 07:46, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

Patience Gibbs' charm

Is this artefact not a Piece of Eden? It seems to be Precursor in origin, having First Civilization markings on it and it gives the user a "supernatural" ability. If not a Piece of Eden, what else could it be? -- Zero-ELEC (talk) 07:50, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

Nice copy/paste there. The charm is never confirmed to be a PoE. There could be other objects out there that have nothing to do with the First Civ. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 07:52, December 7, 2014 (UTC)
As far as I know/we've seen, all "supernatural" or special artefacts of the kind are in one way or the other related to TWCB in some shape or form. It also has markings on it that are almost definitely First Civ. markings. It's not a great leap of logic to assume that the charm is a PoE. Heck, it does more than the Precursor box. But I digress. -- Zero-ELEC (talk) 08:01, December 7, 2014 (UTC)

Machiavelli the Mentor

I noticed you just changed someone's edit to take his being a mentor out with the summary "never a mentor". You are incorrect. Machiavelli was indeed a mentor. Therefore it should be changed back. He is described as a Mentor in AC: Memories: "La Volpe began to suspect the Mentor Niccolo Machiavelli..." Lord Vespasian (talk) 21:22, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

When it's included in a main title, I'd have a better chance of knowing. Games like Identity and Memories don't reach my radar, and it wasn't anywhere in his article. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:24, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
Speaking of obscure assassin's creed games: Vendetta is an Assassins vs Templars competitive tower defense game with no plot, which is accessible in the Abstergo Labs area of PlayStation Home, 'and which does not have an entry in this wiki. Rogue outfits

Hola, Storm. Do you think you could capture images of some of the outfits in Rogue, when you have time? The ones you have, at least. I know you don't have the Master Templar robes, but you probably have most of the others by now. --Crimson Knight Intercom 15:42, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I have most of the Outfits. I actually tried to get a shot of the Native Armour, for a YT thumbnail, but I just can't get a good professional shot like Kain does. I can give it another shot soon. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 23:38, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

Very nice work! Also, the legacy outfits do exist, but I only know of one person on the planet who has them. Perhaps, when Initiates comes back online and has gone through its maintenance, they'll unlock. --Crimson Knight Intercom 01:21, January 2, 2015 (UTC)

I understand what you mean. Didn't think it was much of a difference. Just following how the upload/multiupload page is laid out. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:43, January 2, 2015 (UTC)

We're still short at least one outfit image, the Templar master one. Refer here to see if I missed any others -

Also a personal request - A closeup shot of Shay's shaved and ponytailed head - front and each side. Preferably showing the neck a bit too, the Native Armor would be good for it. Again, max possible closeup, get against the wall to force the camera as close as it will allow. Cheers. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 02:31, February 3, 2015 (UTC)

The newest Nvidia driver update lets me force most games to superscale my native resolution. Dynamic Super Resolution they call it. Essentially I can take shots at 3840x2160. Sadly, the fps slow down to a crawl, so this isn't feasible for taking wiki shots. No absurd-res for us. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 02:46, January 31, 2015 (UTC)

I think your usual 1,920 × 1,080 would do just fine. Better than my 1,277 × 720. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 02:50, January 31, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, my new six core CPU lets me play AC4 at full details at native res with smooth fps now, but if I try to super-res it, it goes to a smooth 10fps crawl. A smooth one, but crawl nonetheless. I put fraps to record it for later screencapping and my system would probably hang. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 02:59, January 31, 2015 (UTC)

Spacing template

Heya Storm. Long time no talk. Anyways - I noticed you changing the < br /> template into < br > (forgive the spaces, too lazy to use nowiki templates now). However, there's not much use, since Wikia just reverts them back. If you check Rose Bertin's Database entry page now, you'll find that your edits have already been undone by Wikia silliness. Nesty Contact me! 13:01, February 13, 2015 (UTC)

Really? I'm looking at it right now and it looks normal to me. I usually just chock it up to people using different editors. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 13:04, February 13, 2015 (UTC)
Huh, weird. I use visual and just type the < br > thing without the /, but Wikia keeps mucking things up. And when I check the page after you've edited, it, it's still the one with the /... Oh well, not much to do about that, I suppose. Nesty Contact me! 13:06, February 13, 2015 (UTC)

Nergüi Gallery

Thanks for the advice. I edited the image myself. I'll be happy to sort it. As for the gallery, would you mind assisting me with the matter? I'm having trouble with the new editing system. I normally don't make edits like this, but I got tired of waiting for someone else to do it, and time is of the essence. New photos were needed for the Nurgüi page, and Assassin's Creed Memories shuts down in less than two weeks. I'm doing my best, but I desperately need help with the page. Please stop undoing my edits and help me turn that section into a proper gallery! Toolen (talk) 06:12, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

I understand the frustration with the new editor; it seems to have popped up in the past day or two. The proper gallery perimeters are "<gallery captionalign="center" position="center" spacing="small" widths="180">", followed by the images (no periods), followed by "</gallery>". Before re-adding that new image, I suggest cropping out the black box. Lastly, I would prefer you wait for a response before reverting an edit; that's rather rude. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 06:19, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the help, friend. I really appreciate it. I can't thank you enough! Toolen (talk) 06:39, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

Mr Storm,

I read your Image Policy. I know how add images but I don't know how to categorize them. So, can you teach me and is it okay to ask help from someone unsigned comment by Assassin Abdullah (talk · contr)

Do you mean sourcing the images? If so, you use this template:

If any alteration has been made to the image

A short description of the image

The original source, either a website or a game (if it's a screenshot)

Ubisoft, 95% of the time

{{PD}}, {{Screenshots}}, etc.

Mr Stormbeast,

I made a mess while inserting an image. Can you help me.

Rubbing Elbows

I disagree, I even checked to be sure about what it means. I even used these links here, and it even explains how I wrote it

It always comes down to associating with someone socially. And we know that its not possible due with one being an ex-slave, a pirate, and Assassin and the other being a slave owner, pirate hunter, and Templar. Plus, the way that how he said it, it was as if Adewale was friends with these guys, while he was only with Blackbeard.

EDIT: We can also add the fact that they never met in person, only Edward had, so having them "Rubbing Elbows" technically never happened, in neither a positive or negative social manner.

Mr.DarkBlade (talk) 06:25, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

Not exactly important, but I thought it was "rubbing shoulders", not elbows. Rubbing elbows is going to be awkward, and possibly painful if you're really skinny. --Crimson Knight Intercom 12:29, March 29, 2015 (UTC)
/I look at my ridiculously pointy elbows, which I could classify as piercing weapons. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 14:29, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

Voice actors

If you read the talk page, i posted sufficient evidence(there's a demo reel on her IMDB page and on the other website i linked) to support that it is Annabelle Galea.  Someone else also posted a screenshot of the credits that has her name under Voice Talent.  I don't have a ton of experience editing or moderating Wikis but i don't see how there can be any reasonable doubt with that evidence. Jedted (talk) 04:27, April 27, 2015 (UTC)

Hard evidence is best; assumptions are always risky. Now, in this case, you were correct, cause this here site explicitly names her as Shao Jun's voice actress, so all is good :) Crook The Constantine District 08:16, April 27, 2015 (UTC)
That someone that posted the screenshot was me, by the way. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 02:14, April 29, 2015 (UTC)

Aside from Bruce Dinsmore himself, is there a specific source you were looking for? If you want one, it would be very helpful if you could give an example of what constitutes a "legit source". Also, have you actually listened to the voice to make sure it isn't him? If would be great to get direct freedback from you, because then we would be on the same page. Thank you.

The game itself would be best, but they don't always provide every actor. As noted by Crook above, assumptions are risky. IMBb and Wikipedia are sometimes used, but as they can be edited by anyone, those aren't the best sources. If you can contact the individual or find a website confirming their involvement in the game, then it can be re-added. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 02:14, April 29, 2015 (UTC)

When you go to my Youtube channel, and the Home tab, what's the video under the "What to watch next" header? I'm trying to set this shit to display latest upload, but it keeps going two videos back after I refresh. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:14, May 2, 2015 (UTC)

I get Fiat Lux, but that's because I clicked the link you left on FTGM's talk page. So it knows I watched the most recent video and is suggesting one back. Did you yourself watch those two videos? Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:20, May 2, 2015 (UTC)
No, I checked Kyrie Eleison to see it uploaded right, but it goes all the way to One Little Victory for me. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:25, May 2, 2015 (UTC)
Hmm, odd. To check my theory, I loaded Fiat Lux and now the next video it suggested is We the People. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:28, May 2, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I checked that way too, it moves back one video after the last suggested one. Which is retarded, since it should stick to whichever is actually set as the latest. "GoogleLol". --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 21:44, May 2, 2015 (UTC)

Shao Jun saying it and Ezio thinking it

Hey, I'm kinda a new contributor to the AC wiki and when i played ACC: china, i read the wiki if there's anything i missed and found out well, almost all the ACC:China lacked info so i filled them up myself. So about Ezio, I found in the database where you get some scrolls and stuff and find out about Jun's past, that he really did saw anger and rage in her eyes/tears and that he knew the precursor box was empty and he figured out that that it might help Shao Jun to choose her path, the same path he took, the path of blood, to rebuild her Brotherhood. I didn't know how to put another reference in the same format or whatever u call it, so i couldn't place a reliable source. If you ever have second thoughts in putting my edited paragraph again, I'm willing to retype :D Thanks, informative wiki by the way. I had not read the scrolls myself yet, but now that I'm looking through them, I realize that the paragraphs/info you added is word-for-word out of them. You can re-add it, but you would do well to avoid plagiarism and work on your paraphrasing. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 22:54, May 7, 2015 (UTC)

Edward's hidden blades

Hi, Stormbeast, I would like to know your opinion about an idea I have about Edward Kenway's hidden blades. First of all, I apologise for my English: I'm not anglophone, but I'm trying doing my best. About the blades, I think they're unique, at least in the game: as you can see, Ah Tabai's, Mary Read's and Dunca Walpole's ones are only decorated by Assassins' emblem.

Why, instead, Edward's blades are decorated by Pirates' skull, too? I thank you for rightly correcting my edit on the page Hidden Blade, but I think this particulare to be an easter egg, because it's notable the protagonist which is both Assassin and Pirate is the only one whose blades are decorated both by Assassins' emblem and Pirates' skull. Pheraps writing showing hi double loyalty was excessive, so, what about to write in the trivia, this:

"Edward Kenway's hidden blades are decorated both by Assassins' emblem and Pirates' skull"

Thank you--Re Edward Kenway (talk) 10:55, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

When referring to the game in general, yes, Edward's blades are unique and one could infer it shows his double loyalty, similar to the flag on the Jackdaw. But story-wise, these blades were chosen at random, meaning they once belonged to another Assassin who had them decorated as such. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 15:15, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

Depends on the situation. For instance, if you were to say "In [this game], such happens", there's no need to reference back to that particular game. Assassin targets

I saw that you undid my edits to the "tyrant" pages. It's heavily implied that all of the figures on the map are Templar-backed. Next to the map, is a Templar cross that gradually changes into the Assassin logo as the targets are revealed. AllianceScoutAiothai (talk) 02:42, July 24, 2015 (UTC)

Also, the figures on the map who are mentioned in other AC material, (Cleopatra, Rasputin, Stalin), are confirmed to be Templars or Templar puppets. AllianceScoutAiothai (talk) 02:45, July 24, 2015 (UTC)

Implied, not confirmed. We know that Assassins target more than just Templars, and the last two times (Manuscript/box and Koh-i-noor) we've assumed something to be just because of how it looks, we ended up being wrong. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 02:46, July 24, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure what makes this different from the now-blocked leaked video. I had no part in adding them. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:26, October 18, 2015 (UTC)

So why not remove them like what you just did, also what is this

It didn't really bother me. Could be that it was uploaded 3 weeks ago. Could be that it's from a database entry, not necessarily confirming their appearance in the game, but maybe a mention. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:46, October 18, 2015 (UTC)

I don't know how to add a source.

I took it from this video. can you add the source for me?

You ask me to source it from a pre-released video, one that will probably be blocked by Ubisoft by the end of the day. Then you revert the edit without waiting to hear back from me? Stormbeast The Helpful Place 20:49, October 19, 2015 (UTC)

The video is sponsored by Ubisoft themselves, that's why the uploader skiped a mission to avoid spoilers, or else the video would be taken down by Ubisoft, the source is 100% legit, not fanmade or something it's as much reliable as it will ever be.

Don't post that Jacob Frye is the youngest Master Assassin as there is no substantial proof. This is supposed to be a Wiki that expresses the truth and facts so posting something like this is offensive to the fans, the lore and the series in general. ConmanWAR (talk) 04:48, December 3, 2015 (UTC)

Rogue DB

Hi, its Darman. I was talking to Crook and he said that I could work on the Rogue files the player finds in the tablets. I noticed that you recorded the similar tablet audio files in AC4, but the subtitles are not on. I have 2 questions about audio files:

  • Is it OK if I transcribe the audio files (Rogue and/or AC4, or neither, your choice) and add them (somehow) to the page? It seems redundant, but all game cutscenes have subtitles written down...
  • Did you capture the Rogue audio files? You did all of the AE audio files, but I can't seem to find the Rogue ones here.

Darman36 (talk) 03:00, January 27, 2016 (UTC)

Hey Darman. I see no issue with transcribing the audio files, seeing as we do so with everything else. The reason I didn't include the subtitles in my videos is the same reason we avoid images with subtitles. It comes off as more official and pleasing to the eye. As for Rogue, I did not, but I can tomorrow. Should have them uploaded within the next two days. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 05:19, January 27, 2016 (UTC)
Ah, that makes sense. Will transcribe AC4 & Rogue vids in meantime. Might take a bit, but I'll get them. But, uh...where do I put the text? The video tabs on the "AE files" page are just for video. Create new tab for text? Change the video tab format to include text? Darman36 (talk) 14:33, January 27, 2016 (UTC)
I'm not entirely sure on that. I suppose we could make it like Assassin's Creed: Initiates and have the video underneath (or above) the transcription... I think doing a Database style with the picture on the right would be too gaudy, but I'm open to format suggestions. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 16:13, January 27, 2016 (UTC)
Good & bad news:
  • Good – Finished draft code (below) for AC4 / Rogue video tabs, Initiates-style. Thoughts / critique before implementation here?

==Abstergo Entertainment==
==''Devils of the Caribbean''==
<gallery widths="250" spacing="small" position="center" captionalign="center">
File:Devils of the Caribbean|A teaser trailer for . . .
*'''Narrator:''' ''Subtitles...''
==''Age of Cutthroats''==
<gallery widths="250" spacing="small" position="center" captionalign="center">
File:Age of Cutthroats|A useful primer. . .
*'''Narrator:''' ''Subtitles...''

  • Bad – Pics & videos appear fine in ''<tabber>'' gallery, but text like AE files:Crypto-History: Artifacts & emails seem to be only visible with <tabview> style. Do we alternate tab styles? There won't be any style consistency for the sections "Abstergo Entertainment" (2 videos, 1 text file) and "Abstergo Industries" (video, 2 text files, video).
Last, the emails don't have a constant subject line. Do I just call them "Documents"? Darman (talk) 02:06, January 30, 2016 (UTC)
"Documents" or maybe "Tablet documents", since that's a bit more specific? Crook The Constantine District 12:27, January 30, 2016 (UTC)
I didn't mean switch to tabber. We should leave them as tabviews. I just meant how it's laid out to include text and an image as an example. I'll have to get back to you on the subject line. As for my half, I've got them all recorded and uploaded to YouTube. Just need to transition them to the wiki, which I can do after work today. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 12:18, January 30, 2016 (UTC)
I think "Tablet Documents" works well, thanks Crook. I've transcribed the first Rogue video. I'll finish the rest soon. The gallery is ready, just replace "[video]" with the file name. Oh, I was just pointing out why I thought continually switching from tabber to tabview would be a bad Idea, not actually suggesting it. I don't know yet how to get video and text on tabview. Darman (talk) 19:31, January 30, 2016 (UTC)

Just curious, did you upload the Rogue videos for the Helix analyst's files? I can't seem to find them, but I might have missed them. I don't mean to pressure you; I know you've got other things to do. Darman (talk) 14:45, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

Here you go, Darman :) Crook The Constantine District 15:12, February 3, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, they're there. I've been meaning to create the appropriate articles. I just haven't figured out if they should be named AE files again or something like Helix files. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 15:57, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

*sheepish grin* Heh, right. Forgot the "Videos" tab. Still learning my way around here. Thanks Crook, will add when I can.
Stormbeast, I think they're fine in similar format to the AC4 vids, e.g. "AE files:[insert title]", because (1) the Helix is technically AE's "property", and (2) consistency with the AE analyst's files. But that's my 2¢. Darman (talk) 19:04, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

Stormbeast, it's Darman. I'm almost done the Helix files (So much typing!) and will start transcribing the AC4 vids soon. But how do I add the subtitles? Go directly to "AE files:[file name]" and just put the transcript below the video? I just don't want to mess up like on the Altaïr II page/categories. Darman (talk) 16:46, March 1, 2016 (UTC)
Hmm... I'll check the page when I get off work and get back to you. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 17:53, March 1, 2016 (UTC)
My original idea was to add the transcripts to the appropriate subsections (AE files), but looking at it now, I'm not so sure. Crook, what do you think? Should we add them to the tabviews, or keep as tabbers and delete the subsections? Stormbeast The Helpful Place 22:44, March 1, 2016 (UTC)
((I'm always in favor of tabbers. Ppsssssstttt. Stormeh. Come back to IRC. Pssst.)) DarkFeather Raven's NestRaven's Hunt 22:50, March 1, 2016 (UTC)
*If* we're going the tabber route, how will it go? As I've mentioned above, 2 screwy subsections alternate between text and video files. Will wait for Crook's idea/response before acting. Darman (talk) 16:33, March 3, 2016 (UTC)
Got an idea – what if we kept the subheadings, but changed the display to something like this (headings in bold):
Abstergo Entertainment
  • Devils trailer & Cutthroats transcribed in tabber.
  • Time periods emails below in tabview.
Abstergo Industries
  • Divine Science & Subject 1 interview transcribed in tabber.
  • Both Crypto-History files below in tabview.
Subject 17 – All tabber. Only Post-Mortem transcribed, as phone files have scrolling text.
Subject Zero – Again, all tabber.
Thoughts? Darman (talk) 06:03, March 7, 2016 (UTC)
Stormbeast?  I'd like to continue transcribing the AE files, but with no one else giving ideas, it's kind of lonely here. Darman (talk) 15:53, March 11, 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought we were waiting on Crook to reply. I'm more in favor of consistency, but as long as it looks good and functions well, your idea should work. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 03:17, March 12, 2016 (UTC)
When nothing came, I opted for anyone's answer. I'd like consistency too, but I only know how to add subtitles via tabber. See my Sandbox for visual. I could put them below the video pg directly,, but I don't know if it's good form. If you could give Sandbox pointers on my talk pg, it'd be appreciated. Darman (talk) 15:21, March 12, 2016 (UTC)

Hello! You mean which image? TheCreedX (talk) 19:16, February 17, 2016 (UTC)

This unsourced duplicate. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 21:45, February 17, 2016 (UTC)
I believe it is sourced now. TheCreedX (talk) 22:56, February 17, 2016 (UTC)

Policy on Editing Featured Articles

Hey Stormbeast, I wanted to ask whether we had a policy on editing featured articles or what's our stance on it. I just saw a messy edit over on the Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, and I was quick to revert ultimately because it was a featured article. I actually feel bad about the decision and wonder if I was too bold or hasty, but I was afraid that it would still mess with the state of the featured article even if I corrected it. Happy birthday

I have dragged myself from my state of near-death to wish you a happy birthday. May it not be your last. :) --Crimson Knight Intercom 22:26, May 2, 2016 (UTC)
