Respectable or honorable person

Can Shao and Jun both mean "Respectable or honorable person"? Cause that seems very weird to me, as an English speaker. I don't really know how the Chinese language works though... Crook The Constantine District 15:22, July 8, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry for sending the information twice to you.The part meaning "respectible or honorable one" is "Jun",if it was pronounced "joon".Shao doesn't mean any absolute thing but a name in most ancient time, after the character took place.
Do trust my Chinese speaking skill.Sleeplust (talk) 15:34, July 8, 2015 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for clarifying :) Crook The Constantine District 15:42, July 8, 2015 (UTC)
Pleased to be helpful here.Sleeplust (talk) 15:47, July 8, 2015 (UTC)

I don't mean to necro this, but I can't help but to add also that because Shao is a surname while Jun is a personal name, you don't actually join the two together to create a meaning. They're supposed to be treated as independent and separate from another. It's entirely possible for a person to have a personal name of a similar meaning to his/her surname because while the personal name is chosen, the surname is not, being inherited from the father. 少芸 vs. 邵君

Hey, do you contribute to the Chinese wiki? I noticed on the Chinese wiki that they are using 邵君 for Shao Jun's name. It makes the most sense, but do you know if it's official? Did the Chinese wiki community just decide to use 邵君 or did they confirm with Ubisoft?

Someone added on Shao Jun's article over here that 少芸 (Shao Yun) is used in the Mandarin version of the game, which seems to be a mix-up caused by the mispronunciation of her name in Embers. I don't know if 邵君 is correct or 少芸. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 15:27, January 20, 2017 (UTC)

少芸 looks more modernized style in Chinese and 少云 more masculinized so anyway 少君 is better.Sleeplust (talk) 04:55, July 13, 2017 (UTC)
I know, but I'm asking if it's official. As in, did fans decide on it or Ubisoft? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 12:37, July 13, 2017 (UTC)
