Hawk

Hello, just wanted to be sure if Isis is 100% mentioned as being a member of the First Civilization or whether this is just assumption. I'm always a bit paranoid about things I haven't seen with my own eyes, so forgive the doubt! -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 18:00, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

In the french version of the comic, El Cakr discussed with an old assassin about the scepter and they said that Aset was "a famous member of the first civilization". But as I only read it in the shop a few hours ago and don't buy it, you can wait to have more "witnesses" if you want. I clearly remember that I was marked by this quote because its identified Aset for the first time as one of those who came before.Maxattac (talk) 18:12, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

Hello. I was wondering where you got the scan of Hawk from? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 14:34, October 16, 2013 (UTC)

  • My scanner is not working, so I searched an online version and I found this french one. Maxattac (talk) 14:49, October 16, 2013 (UTC)

Another reminder to source your images. They're useful and I'd really hate to remove them, but only you know where you got them. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 16:22, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

Edits

When you edit an article, you must be sure of what you are editing in one place because it floods the activity feed of this wiki. BTW, great job on editing those articles...

THANK YOU!!!

Hello there, Max. Thank you so, so much for creating and article or at least an article-stub for Mary Read. FINALLY!! I knew she was gonna appear in the game but I see she did pose as a man, Capt. Kidd's fake-illegitimate son huh? Nice cover. She was dressed as a boy by her mother all her childhood life to try and get money for their household from her paternal grandmother since her older brother, legitimate brother, Mark died (she was her Mother's illegitimate daughter so yeah desperation huh?) When she was older she even enrolled in the British army and navy too. It's not confirmed or known who her father was other than that he was a sea captain. He may have been Capt. Kidd but it's not known as I said however Ubisoft could be makin' that fictional connection for fun and intrigue huh? Still, thank you! ^__^ Have a good editing day!!

Thanks

Hey Maxattac,

Just dropping by real quick; thank you very much for getting screenshots for all the characters of Pirates. I actually like the close-ups better than the full-body images, cause the latter ones are quite small. That's not really your fault of course, I just wish there was a way to get better quality shots of them. Also, thanks for doing the treasures - what with there being 16 sets of those, that's got to be a lot of work, so props to you! :D Crook The Constantine District 21:05, July 27, 2014 (UTC)

  • I prefer top to toes pictures for the Characters but there are indeed of poor quality, this is why I added the close-up in the articles. Thanks for the support concerning the Treasure pictures Maxattac (talk) 22:05, July 27, 2014 (UTC)

Just wondering

Did you find the treasure images from Imgur? I recall making an album there. :P Slate Vesper (talk) 21:56, July 27, 2014 (UTC)

  • The treasure images are screenshot made on my Iphone Maxattac (talk) 22:01, July 27, 2014 (UTC)

Memories

Having left my iPad at my other home, I'm unable to play Memories at the moment. Would you be able to put up transcripts of the dialogue of the new memories when you are able? It would help out a lot with improving these articles and what I can write down on the Timeline. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 23:08, August 25, 2014 (UTC)

Heya Maxattac, would you be able to tell me who Yamauchi Taka is? Because it looks to me that it's not Hanzo who killed Sakon at Sekigahara when the mission says it is Taka. Hanzo also died before the Battle of Sekigahara. Is he another Assassin? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 19:34, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

  • Honestly, I don't know who is that Taka, the game says it's a memory of Hanzo but the mission feature that guy. Maybe he is Hanzo before he join the Assassins or Hanzo disguised, it's not said. When I'll get the next 3 Japan missions (it's random) I will have more clues on Taka identity, sorryMaxattac (talk) 20:48, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

I see. I look forward to finding out more! The memory description seems to just have been copy-pasted for each memory though. Was it also from Chaya Shirojiro Kiyonobu's card that he was born in 1582 and died in 1622? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 22:16, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

Wasn't it a custom around that time that the Japanese took on another name when they came of age, or if they were bestowed an honorific? This might be the case with Taka/Hattori? :P Slate Vesper (talk) 23:33, August 26, 2014 (UTC)

When they came of age, meaning adulthood. That was not the case for Hanzo. On another related matter, Maxattac, seeing as you're doing a great job both at playing Memories and providing us with the images: would you be able to write down the stories of the cards somewhere, perhaps in my sandbox? I'm afraid the app will get deleted again at one point like Discovery and Recollection, and I don't want for us to miss out on the information. I know that seems like a boring task, but it would help out a lot. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 13:29, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

I do not use real money, so the Ultra Rare cards and the majority of the Super Rare cards are not mine. I have made screenshots of the walls of players in the guilds, which are classed has the betters by the game. This is why the rarest pictures are of lesser quality, because I don't have them and also I don't have access to their story part, sorry.Maxattac (talk) 16:32, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Dang. That's too bad. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 16:35, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Heya, that info you put on Hanzo's page, did that come from his biography? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 15:16, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

  • Yes, I was lucky and got the card from a free contract this morning. So, the text added to Hattori Hanzo article is a copy and paste of the biography from the card.Maxattac (talk) 16:26, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

Good job

I just wanted to say thank you on all that work you've put into providing us with all those images and information from Memories. Thank you! -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 10:17, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

  • De rien, my pleasure, de nada, ... Maxattac (talk) 21:13, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
Like Sima said, props and such for your work on Memories. Just stopping by with some tips. When uploading files, use "png" instead of "PNG"; I will rename them if you forget. Also, avoid using extravagant lettering in file names; "Altair" is more common and easier to type than "Altaïr". While we do use the latter in actual articles, using them in file names could lead to broken file names. Same goes for accents over "e" "a" "o" and such...like Élise, Márquez and Antó. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 00:37, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

Database entries

Heya. I noticed you've added some new entries into the Database/People (ACU) list. I was wondering whether you were also going to create the actual pages so that they show up in the list. I would do it myself, but obviously I don't have them in my Database, for whatever reason, so I can't type out their entries. As it is now, the page is a mess, really. Nesty Contact me! 16:35, February 15, 2015 (UTC)

In addition to that, typing out the first clause or sentence isn't really that productive. Nesty Contact me! 16:38, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
I'll get that fixed with few bits of coding once the images are in. Also gonna type out full entries for the cocked-up ones. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:41, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
I have only access to the database in French, this is why I only add the first sentences of the entries, because I don't want to add rough translations to the wiki articles. Sorry Maxattac (talk) 16:44, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
Very well, in that case I haven't said a thing. Ugh. I just wish I had the damn entries myself... Nesty Contact me! 16:46, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
Sorry to butt in, but Maxattac, how did you manage to get those unedited renders of the ACU characters (like the Marie Levesque one)? Kain's version always have Ubisoft's silly Animus effect applied to them and I'd personally prefer clean renders. Just wondering if there is a way Kain can get to those. Crook The Constantine District 16:48, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
On my Iphone, I used the database of the Companion App which have no animus effect and made screenshots Maxattac (talk) 16:56, February 15, 2015 (UTC)

Nurgüi

As you may be know, Assassin's Creed Memories is closing in March. I saw all the images you put up from the game, so I know you can help us out. Nurgüi's article needs a gallery, and the main image needs to be replaced by a picture of him as he appears in the missions. Could you please upload more images of Nurgüi on the article page? My game stopped working so I am unable to do so. Toolen (talk) 19:22, February 18, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry I don't have Nergui card and can't access the card galeries of the other players anymore and do screenshots of their walls. Maybe the list of the top players will reappear during the final tournament, who knows. Also, if you have the evolved card and if it his one of the three cards which is featured on your wall, give me your player name i'll make a screenshot of it. Maxattac (talk) 21:23, February 18, 2015 (UTC)

Shao Jun

Max, man, let me kiss you. Where did you get that glorious HD image of Shao Jun? Is that from the official Assassin's Creed Chronicles release image? Anyways, I'm totally rendering that for her article :D (unless you're already on that?) Thanks so much for uploading it. Crook The Constantine District 21:46, April 7, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, better late than never, I'm trying to do some render these days. I used the picture from the game cover even if the shadows are not ideal. Maxattac (talk) 16:37, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

Sourcing

Max, please refrain from creating memory articles until after a game has released. You should also keep in mind to source your info and articles properly. Again, an unreleased game is not a proper source. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 11:22, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

The game scheduled launch is April 21 in US, so today. If I'm not mistaken, it's not unreleased. Maxattac (talk) 11:39, April 21, 2015 (UTC)
Hey Max. Let me just starting off by saying I am sooo sorry. I had gotten very little sleep last night and I had no reason to blow up at you like that. I checked with a friend and he said Xbox got the game about 4 hours before I messaged you. Sometimes I forget that different consoles have different upload times. I do want you to keep in mind for future articles about proper sourcing. Once again, my sincerest apologies for the previous message. Stormbeast The Helpful Place Stormbeast The Helpful Place 15:35, April 21, 2015 (UTC)\
No offense taken since I didn't have the game at the time as I live in France, I just watched the gameplay videos on youtube and posted the info because the game was scheduled to be released today in America. I have no patience and can be a little obsessive when I like something. Happily since these dark and frustrating times of watching youtube, I have found a way to get the game one day early and before the european release.^^ Maxattac (talk) 16:46, April 21, 2015 (UTC)

ATA Source

It's this Twitch stream where ATA got their information from. Just skip to the bit where they talk about the characters (around the 40 minute mark they talk about Henry, I think). Please adjust the sources on the articles accordingly. Since the stream's in French, that might work to your advantage since you can translate more accurately than I can :) Crook The Constantine District 16:53, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks, I'm watching it. Maxattac (talk) 17:16, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

Charlotte Gouze

Hey, Max!

Quick question: where did you find out that Charlotte Gouze was in a relationship with Augustin Grisier? Was that in like the documents you found after renovating the Café Théâtre? Thanks for reading :) Crook The Constantine District 21:41, August 14, 2015 (UTC)

  • If I recall correctly, in a talk between the servant girl of the Café Théâtre and the intendant. The girl gossiped about seeing Grisier and Gouze being together during the night and that she heard Grisier crying about the closure of Paris convents with Gouze trying to comfort him. You can check to be sure because the memory is not fresh in my mind as it was some month ago now, but the talks between the intendant, the servant and the cook lady are random so you maybe have to wait a little before you get the right one.Maxattac (talk) 05:12, August 15, 2015 (UTC)

Hello! I have a quick request!

I am a staff member at Wikia and I am helping the Game Team with a project. I am hoping to find community members here at Assassin's Creed Wiki who are planning to play Syndicate. If you are, could you briefly tell me why you are looking forward to it, and why you love the franchise? Thanks so much! Pinkachu@fandom (talk) 23:56, September 29, 2015 (UTC)

Concept art renders

Hey Max,

So uh, not to put you in your place, but I'm not a very big fan of concept art renders. I don't mind the ones from Chronicles China so much, cause they're quite solid and clearly-defined, but I'd rather the more painterly ones like Arend Schut and Cunningham keep the background. It's a personal preference, so you can ignore this, if you want. Just wanted to let you know ^^; Crook The Constantine District 12:07, October 6, 2015 (UTC)

Spoilers

Max, please refrain from adding information from the game before it's been officially released. Crook The Constantine District 14:23, October 18, 2015 (UTC)

I refrained myself, I only added two very minor point and kept the major spoilers from the video Maxattac (talk) 14:29, October 18, 2015 (UTC)
I appreciate that. Sorry if I came across as terse ^^; Crook The Constantine District 14:40, October 18, 2015 (UTC)

Database Pictures

Heyo Max!

I was wondering if you could get pictures of the other database entries (like Agnes Macbean, Nigel Bumble, Ned Wynert, etc.) as well? That'd be really useful, since we've very little in-game images right now and we could use them on the articles until we have replacements. Thanks for reading :) Crook The Constantine District 12:49, October 30, 2015 (UTC)

Those pictures I previously uploaded came from the French wikia, thanks to a guy named Linkpogo. Sorry, I'm not the original uploader. If you are still interested, the guy added some other pictures from the database today... Maxattac (talk) 22:38, October 30, 2015 (UTC)
Oh, I see, that's okay. Very well, we can use his pictures for now then. Crook The Constantine District 22:46, October 30, 2015 (UTC)

Sun Yat-sen = Templar?

Hey Max, could you please clarify for me if this dude is a Templar? There was someone asking about this person on the guy's talk page, but since someone removed him from the navbox and you've since restored it, I'd like to know just so the relevant categories and era icons can be put on his article. American Templars

Hey,

I was about to suggest the creation of an "American Rite of the Templar Order" article when i saw you adding the American Templars category. A lot of the Modern Day Templars are American, should we start adding them? DipsonDP (talk) 23:26, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • Sorry Dipson, I didn't see your message. I don't know if the American Modern Day Templars are also part of the American Rite, because I have the feeling that after WWI the Templars are more international than before, specifically with the founding of Abstergo. Abstergo is under the control of the Inner Sanctum which is also in control of the whole Order, so the question is; their American employees, are they members of a specific rite or directly under the control of the Sanctum and consequently part of a "supranational" Rite, like the UN of the Templars ?Maxattac (talk) 11:07, September 25, 2016 (UTC)

Cudgel Cormac

Isn't Cudgel his real name? i wondered why you wrote it in quotation marks. Marcos Martín 02:31, September 25, 2016 (UTC)

  • No, Cudgel is not his christian name but rather a nickname and this is confirmed by Tweed when he told to Abraham to deliver a letter to Cormac. Furthermore, this is pretty obvious when you search for the meaning of Cudgel in English.Maxattac (talk) 10:57, September 25, 2016 (UTC)

Durga

I see you've claimed that the First Civ entity from Brahman is Durga. Do you have a source for this? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 16:51, November 21, 2016 (UTC)

Victoria Bibeau Image

Hey Max,

Now, this might seem a tad hypocritical of me, but I don't know if we should be editing images from the comics too much. Yes, I erased the text bubbles and recreated the shape of Bibeau's hair based on the other panels, but I don't agree with your addition of the pupils because none of the characters' eyes in the locus comic are drawn that way. It's a stylistic choice of the artist and I don't believe we should be messing with that. Thanks for reading. Crook The Constantine District 16:17, December 15, 2016 (UTC)

As you wish, it just that she looked like a blind woman without her pupils and IMO it wasn't an important alteration to add them on her portrait Maxattac (talk) 23:29, December 15, 2016 (UTC)

Moussa, Lin, Nathan

Hey Max,

Please source the images of Lin, Nathan and Moussa to the site where you found them. "Assassin's Creed (film)" is not an adequate source since these images are clearly promotional ones rather than screencaps. Sorry to be difficult about this, but it's one of my pet peeves. I like to know where stuff comes from. Crook The Constantine District 13:02, December 19, 2016 (UTC)

Aguilar & Maria

Hey Max,

Based on what I saw in the movie, I don't think there's enough basis for us to state in Aguilar's article that he and Maria were in a relationship. Unless the novelization confirms this, of course; If so, you should definitely source that. If not, then it should probably be removed cause it's just a tad too speculative. Get back to me when you can, okay? Crook The Constantine District 19:37, December 27, 2016 (UTC)

Movie novel

Hello Max, I have seen that you are reading the novelization. Could you tell me to what extent it solves the holes in the movie and adapts to the canon? A greeting ;) Spanish assassin (Talk) 11:04, December 29, 2016 (UTC)

  • In fact, as of now I just read the last 1/3 of the book (the bonus chapters featuring the sessions of Emir, Nathan, Moussa and Lin in the Animus). Regarding the adaptation itself (of which i just had read a handful of chapters for now), yes Golden tries to flesh out the story of the film and to link it more to the already existing canon, principally because you can read the characters' thoughts which isn't possible in the movie.Maxattac (talk) 14:21, December 29, 2016 (UTC)

Il Sparviero Image

Hey, I noticed that almost a year back, you added this image:

ACI Il Sparviero 1515

to the article of Lo Sparviero.

Do you have any source that says this is the canonical appearance of this customizable character? Because if not, we shouldn't be presenting any face exclusively as though it is the canonical face. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 08:30, January 1, 2017 (UTC)

My source is the game, the portrait can be seen during the very first mission, when the player is taught how to play.Maxattac (talk) 01:52, January 2, 2017 (UTC)
The character face is customizable. That they chose this particular face to be used in the tutorial doesn't necessarily mean that it's meant as the canonical face. They could've simply used it because they needed to use a face and chose a base, default one, without meaning to declare it as the canonical one. It's not explicit. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 02:45, January 2, 2017 (UTC)
Almost every main characters is customizable in the AC franchise yet on this Wiki we assume that their default outfit is their official outfit. Why the rule that apply to their clothes shouldn't be valid for their faces?Maxattac (talk) 03:09, January 2, 2017 (UTC)
Actually, I disagree strongly with the assumption that the default outfit is always the canonical outfit they wore through all memories from start to finish, especially since Ubisoft had the sense to make the Armor of Altaïr Ezio's canonical outfit by the end of the game.
However, even if I agree with that policy, it can be argued that in those cases, we just have to go along with an outfit in order to provide images and not be so concerned with 100% canonicity. In this case though, we don't necessarily have to choose a face.
I know Wookieepedia's a different wiki, but I take my precedent from there since Star Wars has had many RPG games with customizable faces, and so a huge history of debates over which faces to use. Why not provide all the faces on the article? Present them as the possible faces of the character? Why do we have to choose one over the others? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 03:54, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

Timing of events in the film

I just read your edits to Tomás de Torquemada. So let me confirm, the capture of Prince Ahmed of Granada occurred in late December 1491? And the auto-da-fé of Aguilar, Benedicto, and Maria occurred around January 6, 1492? And the ransom meeting between Torquemada and Muhammad XII for the Apple of Eden definitely occurred after Granada surrendered?

I'm trying to sort out contradictions in the timeline with Assassin's Creed II: Discovery, which I covered in detail here.

Ezio's assassination attempt on Torquemada occurred many months after Granada's surrender, specifically soon after Columbus left Palos de la Frontera on August 3, 1492. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 08:41, January 5, 2017 (UTC)

Hey Max and Sol!
Sorry for butting in, I figured I'd contribute since I also finished the novelization yesterday. I don't know when exactly Ezio encounters Torquemada, but as for events in the movie: during the second regression, Maria says "they will soon march on Granada", so Granada definitely hasn't fallen yet - this is also evident from the speech Torquemada gives. Importantly, before this regression commences, Sophia says "Set the date for the 6th". I guess that's where the 6th of January might come from? I'm not sure.
As for the third regression when the trade happens, this phrase is used when setting the scene: “The great walled city had finally been forced to open its gates, offering surrender after a price dearly paid.” Additionally, Torquemada says "Granada is ours" to Muhammad, so presumably this is shortly after Granada's defeat?
Final remark: in the movie, the only year that is given is 1492. In the novelization, it's 1491, for some reason. Make of that what you will :p
Oh! And Aguilar travels straight to Cadiz following his escape from the Alhambra. The journey takes him five days. Then the meeting with Columbus happens. Crook The Constantine District 10:46, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I think there are even more complications now. I was about to mention how the film only gives 1492 as the year over on my forum thread, until I saw Max's edit bringing it back to December 1491.
See, the official capitulation of Granada occurred on January 2, 1492. So if 1492 is the correct date, and the auto-da-fé occurs before the fall of Granada, this means that Aguilar and Maria were most likely captured on January 1, then taken to be executed on January 2, then the ransom exchange happened later that day.
Compounding this complication is that it's not clear if January 2, 1492 is really the date that Granada and Spain ceased fighting, or just the date of formal surrender. Wikipedia says that a peace treaty and ceasefire was already signed on November 25, 1491, and that the time between that date and January 2 was just a waiting period while preparations were made for the formal capitulation, but it's possible that Granada reneged on its promise of surrender leading to a final assault on January 2 for all I know. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 17:52, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
Maybe less important, but the novel says the prologue occurs a few months before the attempted rescue of the Prince. Also, Aguilar, Maria and Benedicto spend at least "a few days" in the prison of Seville before being taken out for execution by auto-da-fe. So if that scene truly does take place on January 1, the rescue mission would have taken place in December 1491. Crook The Constantine District 18:01, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
There are definitely some discrepancies between the Movie and the Novel regarding the timeline of events: 1491 or 1492 for the past sequences and 1986 or 1988 for Mary's death.
The fall of Granada could have occured off-screen while the Assassins were still in jail, and then sometimes later while arriving to Granada they saw the toll on the city and witnessed the formal surrender of Muhammad in his palace (like leaving the keys of his appartement for the next owner ^^). My timeline; Mid 1491: Aguilar formally inducted -> late 1491: failed rescue mission near Granada -> 6th Jan 1492: execution after travel from Granada (250km, probably in a wagon) and days of imprisonment in Seville -> 8th or 9th Jan 1492: the templars and the Assassins arrive in Granada (250km, riding horses) -> 13th or 14th: five days trip to Palos de la Frontera (350km, riding horses), meet Colombus.
Regarding Mary's death; the Movie states that the events in California happened in 1986, while the notice board featuring Callum's ancestry mention that Mary died in 1988. In the Novel, the sequence in California is stated to happen in 1988, then the next chapter featuring an adult Callum, tell us that the present sequences are happening exactly thirty years later, so in 2018, a statement which contradict our canon and it's 2016 date. Yes, I bought the Dvd, but I don't know why all the screencaptures are so blurry, maybe because of Kurziel's filmaking style or my crappy computer who hold with tape ^^ (Maybe one day, if I have time, I will try to see if its better on my more recent computer...) To have better pictures, I fear we will have to wait for a bored good soul with some time and the Blu-ray...Maxattac (talk) 02:54, April 29, 2017 (UTC)
Hey Maxattac, I've noticed that the images you've uploaded all start with "ACM" at the beginning. This confused me at first because I thought it was referring to Assassin's Creed: Memories rather than meaning Assassin's Creed Movie as you probably intended. I think it would be better to change them from "ACM" to "ACfilm". The Wikia Editor (talk) 11:15, April 29, 2017 (UTC)
Even if I believe that no one truly care about the names of the pictures, you are probably right about the ACM thing. However I'm too lazy to rename all the files... if you have some courage, feel free to do itMaxattac (talk) 18:13, April 30, 2017 (UTC)

Io:nhiote's Eagle Vision like Bayek's?

Hey Max,

So, I removed the piece of trivia you added this morning because, from the preview, it seemed like regular old Eagle Vision, being able to spot things in the environment to construct what had previous occurred in that area. It didn't seem like there was any implication that Io:nhiote was looking through the eyes of the deer.

Does the complete comic give more information that lead you to believe it's actually the same kind of Eagle Vision as Bayek's? If so, it'd be nice for you to mention that in the edit summary, cause without clarification, it seems like you're just ignoring my revision. Thanks for reading. Crook The Constantine District 22:19, July 4, 2017 (UTC)

She's injured and her father leave her behind, while he is away she see traces made by a wolf, looking in the sky she see an eagle, they "connect" (her reflect in the bird's eye and his in her own) she somehow control the eagle to warn her father of the wolf sneaking behind him... later, to her amazed father, she tell him about the wolf; Connor:"how do you know?" The girl, showing the eagle in the sky:"I saw... we saw". It seems pretty obvious to me that she is using the same variant of the Eagle Vision than Bayek. Maxattac (talk) 22:26, July 4, 2017 (UTC)

Formatting

Maxattac, you're one of the best contributors to the wiki when it comes to information from secondary AC sources and that is why I want to tell you some things to improve your formatting.

Firstly, not every single page needs to have an infobox. Only add an infobox when it adds something of worth to the page, and only when it doesn't unnecessarily stretch a page.

Secondly, sourcing; I noticed on the Gustavo Ramirez article you did go to the effort of placing the References section with the {{Reflist}} tag on it, but proceeded to not list a single reference. You know this is not acceptable sourcing and I ask you to refrain from not listing sources in the future; this is equally important as the information you put on a page.

Thank you for reading this and all your contributions. :) -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 08:39, September 8, 2017 (UTC)

Spoiler warnings

Maxattac, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but making articles on unofficially released content goes against our sourcing policy, so please wait a few more days. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 10:44, October 21, 2017 (UTC)

I just added basic informations with a spoiler tag, but as you wish...Maxattac (talk) 10:50, October 21, 2017 (UTC)
I know. It's still information from leaks, not officially released sources. I know the information is valid, but we've got the sourcing policy in place. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 10:52, October 21, 2017 (UTC)
Besides, even though I already knew, I don't think the other wiki editors all want to be spoiled if it can be helped. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 10:59, October 21, 2017 (UTC)

Just wanted to give my two cents: I actually genuinely do really appreciate your enthusiasm with always keeping up with new content. You're really good with that Max, laying the basic foundations for all new articles, something that definitely eases our work given our low manpower. However, in this case, yes, it'd be better to wait the several days for the game's release. :) Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 15:50, October 21, 2017 (UTC)

Floruit

Hello Max, I just wanted to clarify what floruit means since I know it can be confusing for many people, and indeed I had the same confusion. In real-life sources, when a historical figure's birth and death range is preceded by fl. (i.e. floruit), this automatically changes the information to refer not to a birth–death range, but to their range of existence as known by scholars. What this means is that the latter year can either mean that the individual may have died but is not confirmed to have died that year or even that that individual is confirmed not to have died that year, but that is their last documented appearance we have. In the same way, the first year can mean either that the individual was born in that year or even conversely that we know the individual was born before that year but that is their first documented appearance in history. (There is also a confusing alternative usage where floruit sometimes refers only to an individual's years in their most prominent career but just brush that aside... xD) An example is Shao Jun (fl. 1505–1567), who we know to have been born in 1505, and who we know didn't necessarily die in 1567 at all, but that number is listed just because it's her last appearance.

The reason why this is favored in academia is because usually if you just write "born" without an ending range, this technically implies that the individual is still alive even if the audience should expect otherwise because the individual lived centuries ago. So floruit is used when an individual is known or can be assumed to have died, but the death date is not known. Floruit is more preferable because it sounds less OOU than "unknown" and is more professional.

Anyway, sorry for the confusion (or even the pedantic explanation), let me know if you have any questions or even objections because yes, this is kind of a new formatting style. :) Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 03:18, June 29, 2018 (UTC)

Your input

Hey Max, I just wanted to apologize again for the confusion about the formatting style with unknown death dates. I realize that because this is a cause for confusion for users, this is something that should be consulted with a wider audience. Because of this, I set up a thread in the Forums for people to reach a consensus on the notation style. I would like to invite you to participate, provide your input, and vote on the preferred notation you think is best. I actually would highly encourage it given the prior confusion you had :P Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 07:52, July 17, 2018 (UTC)

Memories articles

Hi Maxattac. Firstly I wanted to thank you for your recent additions (i.e. the Rebellion memories articles, specifically). There is one minor thing I'd like to bring to your attention, however: When using the eraicons any "realworld" icons should always be included at the end of the sequence. The articles should start " {{Era|Memories|Rebellion}} " to maintain consistency with our other memories article. If you could please apply this format going forward, it would be appreciated. Thanks! --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 13:45, July 30, 2018 (UTC)

Hey I saw you edited Victoria's page to include information about her appearence in oddessy. Do you have a source, something like a news article to back that up, because I couldn't find anything searching online. --SunMage (talk) 03:06, September 12, 2018 (UTC)

Al Mualim's AC: Memories info

I was wondering if you had the bio info for him. I thought on his card they finally call him by his name instead of just Al Mualim and if so we should be able to add it to his intro paragraph. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 21:48, September 17, 2018 (UTC)

  • Sorry I can't access the bio anymore, the game was a failure and it's servors were closed only some months after the launch. Since I never spend money on mobile games, I never unlocked some parts of ot, such as the third art of Al Mualim. Anyway, apart from the art and if I remember correctly there was nothing new in Al Mualim's written bio ... Maxattac (talk) 22:38, September 17, 2018 (UTC)
Shame, I thought I remembered them finally using Rashid ad-Din Sinan. Maybe the maginze will or something. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 22:48, September 17, 2018 (UTC)
The non-canonical mobile adaptation of Assassin's Creed actually refers to Al Mualim by the name Sinan. The actual reason why we had to revert back to using the name Al Mualim is because we received an actual notice by Ubisoft that their decision not to ever use the name Rashid ad-Din Sinan owed to some legal or copyright issues though I cannot understand what. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 23:09, September 17, 2018 (UTC)
That’s so weird but similar to a Mohammed (pbuh) like issue I guess. Still I could have sworn it was in Memories, whatever I guess. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 23:42, September 17, 2018 (UTC)
Since they did happen to use the name in one mobile game, even if a clearly non-canonical one, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that they used it in another mobile game either because someone didn't get the memo they had to avoid it or maybe because they thought they could let it slip in a mobile game? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:30, September 18, 2018 (UTC)
Also how do you copyright a historical figure? And from a region that is stereotyped in having rather poor restriction on IP infringement. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 01:52, September 18, 2018 (UTC)

Ercole Massimo in ACID

I saw you added Ercole Massimo in ACID Navigation template three years ago. Have you met him in the game before? Because I had many issues with that game. Such as can't find all of the Database entries and met other characters. --UJ112013 (talk) 11:42, March 28, 2019 (UTC)

Honestly, I don't remember... I played this game several years ago, so sorry mate.Maxattac (talk) 14:08, March 30, 2019 (UTC)

AC Bloodstone

Hey Max, you've added heaps of Bloodstone info nice. Quick question – Is the character on the cover of Tome 2 meant to be Julia Gorm? thanks.V i l k a T h e W o l f (talk) 12:43, October 14, 2019 (UTC)

Yes, it's Julia on the cover. Maxattac (talk) 16:48, October 14, 2019 (UTC)
thanks dude, also is it Alekseï Gavrani on vol 1 cover?V i l k a T h e W o l f (talk) 02:47, October 15, 2019 (UTC)

Anniversary Helix Event characters

Hello Maxattac,
Thanks for adding the new characters from the Anniversary Helix Event! I honestly wasn't sure if they were "real" or not, specifically the Player Admin, who to me seems more like a non-sentient Animus AI. But I'm curious: Clearly, 3P3EC74R is some hacker's handle. Now I doubt Ubisoft will answer, but what do you think on the odds that they're an avatar of a resurgent Erudito? Who else refers to their singular selves as part of a larger collective, regularly hacked Abstergo's Animi with the intent of showing users/players the real truth, and prominently use red in their iconography? Anyway, just a passing thought. – Darman (talk) 04:00, December 8, 2019 (UTC)

Sorry to jump in. Do you want me to ask the game‘s CM? We are online acquaintances if not friends. She is actually the basis for the Player Admin. I might be able to find out about 3P3EC74R like why use that variant instead of 5P3C74R as leet speak for Specter. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 04:20, December 8, 2019 (UTC)
Really? I was just voicing a theory that came to mind, not expecting it to be taken seriously, but if it's not a bother, could you? (If true, how would we source it?) CM... "Community Manager"? That's Rebeca Laporte of Ubisoft Halifax, yes? Unless I missed them in the credits. Honestly, I thought Player Admin was an AI based Violet da Costa's AC4/Rogue look. – Darman (talk) 04:45, December 8, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, Community Manager. I know her by her online handle Ubee.Bumble. I’d suggested blaming Erudito in universe for bugs that the game was having a while back so maybe they took that idea and ran with it. I talk to her on discord so that’s not really citable but she might be able to post something on their official FB and Twitter pages. Or maybe, and this is something I’ve already sort of talked about, use the new inbox feature to send in universe messages from both Abstergo and Erudito or Assassins, instead of just game update messages and player compensation. However I don’t think the inbox messages are permanent unlike say Identity so maybe that doesn’t work either for sourcing. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 15:01, December 8, 2019 (UTC)
Jumping in, about sourcing the inbox messages, could always screenshot them? Source that?V i l k a T h e W o l f (talk) 10:45, December 9, 2019 (UTC)
