Source forum and main page link

I tried making a forum for my sources, but my iPad makes a mess. And i don't know who to go to. So here i am. And for the main page. I think you can find a place for the link to the news blog.

I'm not gonna make a new blog for each time there is new news, but just change the title and the forum is needed for a place to a my old news/sources. The new news get updated in the blog and the previous news is put in the forum. The blog is going to have a link to the forum. And the forum is my little problem. --ACsenior (talk) 18:07, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

We're not putting up a special forum on the main page just to list every piece of minor news. Any news that's worth being on the main page already gets on the main page. You can make a blog to collect all this news instead, but it won't be on the main page. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:47, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

I'm ok with that, but what i meant is that i only need a link to the blog. The blog is supposed to have a link to the forum. Not asking for a "special forum". Only help to make one and a link to the blog(can skip the link to the blog from the main page).--ACsenior (talk) 19:53, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

"American Revolutionary War" substitute

Hi, Sima; is there an acceptable alternative to "American Revolutionary War" that we should use for things that can be done at any time during Assassin's Creed III, such as buying a flintlock pistol? Because it's starting to feel silly saying "obtainable during the American Revolutionary War", when it can be done outside that time. --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:40, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

I am personally very much against that whole settings-oriented stuff. "In the Thirteen Colonies during the 18th century" or something like that? Lots of stuff to use. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:50, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

Wiki design help

I know this is not about the AC wiki. Well, technically, it is. I got control of this wiki recently. And I want to know how to put front page news blogs on the home site like the AC wiki has. I know about blog lists, but I don't know how to embed one into the front page. Can you help me? Thanks! Aegis RunestoneSpeak to me 17:41, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm, I guess I could help you out, but I'm no really no coding wonder like other users are. It'd take me several times to figure it all out and implement it there. So again, I think that it'd be better to go to Vatsa or Odran for this. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:13, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

I happen to agree with you fully, but I thought that it was our way to use periods on captions.

There was this proposal, but I don't think it was finalised. So, should periods on quote and image captions be removed? --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:37, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not in any position to just say what shall be and what shall not be. Right now I don't think we have any clear rule set up. I figure that in the near future we will have to address this. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:40, March 30, 2013 (UTC)
I'm just gonna pop in here to say, this is not what I expected when I saw this section title in the RA feed. Also, I recall Jasca waging war on fullstops in captions a few months back, and they ended up staying.--Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 20:43, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

AC3 chronology

Help me out here: I rewatched the epilogue missions and Davenport Homestead and Evacuation Day take place in 1783, with Connor meeting the Daniel Boone-lookalike in the village afterwards. There's no date for that scene but the dialogue with Connor asking where everyone's gone makes it seem like it takes place before he talks to Juno again. What do you reckon? Alientraveller (talk) 13:14, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, correct. He wouldn't say "Why would they leave this behind?" when he sees the Crystal Ball, only to be shocked later when he finds that everyone has left the village. Same with Davenport Homestead, there's no way in hell that it takes place in 1783. That one's gotta be set right after burying the Grand Temple Key. I have no idea why they just threw these in afterwards, and in a non chronological way. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:02, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Are there are any other chronology issues you have with Connor's article? --Alientraveller (talk) 15:09, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

The Naval missions; the ones with Biddle and the lack of Peg Leg missions. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:10, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Well with Biddle, I had moved up the fort attack to the start of 'Hunting the Templars' while placing a note later on that Connor met up with Haytham after Church and Biddle's deaths. However, if you want I could section off Connor's confrontation with Biddle. --Alientraveller (talk) 15:21, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

dont the naval missions all have a date in their opening?Malice419 (talk) 15:17, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, but my problem is that they aren't featured at all on Connor's article. Connor obtaining the Shard of Eden is quite relevant. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:18, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

The new section on Connor's page makes it even more non chronological than it was. Hoping from 1773 to 1777 to 1769 etc. Not pleasant reading. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:45, March 31, 2013 (UTC)

You are aware that Persia was a name for Iran used by outsiders right? Or does the Encyclopedia refer to historical Iran as Persia (in which case, I'll defer to it since this is an AC Wiki). Alientraveller (talk) 17:09, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, the Western world referred to it as such. I don't recall "Iran" being used anywhere aside from in regards to the Iranian Revolution in 1953, but I do recall Persia being used. EDIT: Just looked it up and the Iranians called it Iran since circa 1000, so let's use Iran instead. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:16, April 27, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Sima,

You know that in Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, in the modern section of the game, you play as a member of Abstergo Entertainment?

Well, I reckon that there could be a little plot twist in the storyline revealing the player as a Assassin sent to infilitrate Abstergo Industries (I hope so as well). But you never know.

PS: I apologised to Amnestyyy, I know what I did was wrong and unforgivable, but I could not live the rest of my teenagehood with that on my conscience. Amnestyyy forgave me, but that does not mean to say that you have to do the same.

Two questions

First - I saw that you have slight aversion to memories being classed as 'side', and I see your point. Should we re-class these with how they're labeled in-game? Like Investigation/Thief Assignment/Race/Templar Lair, etc.

Second - Slate recently removed the alias from one of the Race memories' opening paragraph, and I also agree with that one. Since we refer to Al by his full name, I don't see why Ezio's shouldn't have the 'da Firenze' there too. It also makes for less hassle with creating an alias while making new memory.

Thoughts? --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:24, May 4, 2013 (UTC)

First - Yes.
Second - I am not quite sure what you mean. You mean we should only refer to Ezio as "Ezio Auditore da Firenze"? I only remove the "da Firenze" part at certain moments when it fits better in the context or when it makes reading unpleasant.
-- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:36, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
Nah, here's an example - "San Gimignano Dash was a virtual representation of one of Ezio Auditore da Firenze's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus."

Most memories ommit the 'da Firenze', leaving only Ezio Auditore in place. I think we shouldn't do that, for consistency's sake. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:38, May 4, 2013 (UTC)

Also, as I perceive it, you should refer to Ezio by his full name in the first instance, and after that "Ezio Auditore" can suffice. It gives the text a bit of formality. Slate Vesper (talk) 15:40, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
Yes. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:45, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
M'kay, I'll get to this later today after adding courier memories. My chief editor Slate will probably be there to add formality to these too, which I appreciate. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 15:47, May 4, 2013 (UTC)

Assassin branches

While I understand that "Roman" may allude to both the Roman Empire and Roman Republic Assassins, the reason I thought it could have been renamed was because while they operate during certain time periods, Rome itself falls under Italy and we have "Italian Assassins" seperately, and yet the Ottoman Assassins are contained under Turkish Assassins despite the time period of Ottoman rule being quite significant.

Not to mention the fact that there various sects of Colonial Assassins, but the page itself only contains Connor and Achilles' branch. Slate Vesper (talk) 20:42, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

It may not allude to both, it does. The demonym used for both the Roman Republic and Roman Empire is "Roman" - the people were "Romans", not "Roman Republicans" or "Roman Empirians". It just is what it is; if people are confused into thinking that it refers to the solely the Assassins in Rome, which is weird because they are not a separate branch, then the article itself would clear that up fast enough. The reason why I did not name that other branch "Ottoman Assassins" is because the article contains information from the Assassins in Turkey during Byzantine rule as well, hence why I used the demonym "Turkish" to refer to refer to the Brotherhood in and around Turkey throughout the ages. Calling the page "Ottoman Assassins" would be inaccurate, unless you want to make separate "Byzantine Assassins" and "Ottoman Assassins" pages. "Colonial Assassins" is the name given to the Brotherhood in the Thirteen Colonies via the AC3 database. Agaté, Aveline and Gérald do not fall under the same Brotherhood if only evidenced by the fact that they have separate Mentors, but also because they are not connected to one another - they don't fall under a single leadership and are not aware of one another's every move. The naming issue is Ubisoft's fault. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:52, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, that's reasonable, but considering the point about the Colonial Assassins, does that mean we should possibly create the page for the French Colonial Assassins and Caribbean Assassins? After all, with AC4BF upcoming, it might be enough of a reason seeing as Edward might fall within the latter. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:01, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
French Colonial Assassins is appropriate on the condition that the article is good, I previously deleted one because it wasn't. Hold up on Caribbean Assassins because we still have to see if the Assassins don't have a different Brotherhood on each island there (since a Mentor could not possibly oversee all Assassins on those islands), or if there even are other Assassins there (Edward could have been trained in Great Britain or somewhere else). -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:11, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
I honestly doubt Edward was trained in Great Britain. Most of the info coming out for Black Flag seems to point towards the Assassins discovering him after he began his bout of piracy in the Caribbean, and then training him in their ways. After that, he could have packed in the piracy and settled in London with Tessa, before the Forsaken events play out. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:18, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
I am not saying I find it likely, I'm just listing its possibility. On a side not, Basilisk was not a Grand Master, he was a de facto leader. The position of Grand Master was vacant in 1190 (as the Encyclopedia emphasises), and ACAC backs this up by not calling Basilisk a Grand Master. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:20, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
Does this mean he could be a Master Templar then? I'd assume that being in charge of the Templar Order wasn't something handed out freely, and while Ahmet and Basilisk may not be GMs, the Master Templar page we have only has examples of modern-day Templars with no individuals from previous time periods. If you're unsure though, could you ask Darby or Corey? Slate Vesper (talk) 21:32, May 5, 2013 (UTC)
If we're unsure, it's better to not add it. The rank of Master Templar could not have existed back then. I've never had contact with Corey, and Darby did not write Altaïr's Chronicles (I don't actually know who did). -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:54, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

Centering captions

I normally center the captions to give the article a more presentable look. It's something I've been doing for a while now, and I haven't had many complaints. :S Slate Vesper (talk) 23:46, May 5, 2013 (UTC)

And I have been positioning them on the left for as long as I can remember, and I did not get any complaints either. I don't see why we would center the captions in galleries. We don't center the captions in normal thumbnail images either. Or center the entire text in articles. Feels like the prologue of a Star Wars film. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 06:07, May 6, 2013 (UTC)
Well, first I put the images in the center because it filled up more of the space in the gallery section and kept the articles somewhat streamlined, but then the captions looked a little awkward being to the side, so I centered them to keep them synonymous with the pictures themselves. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:51, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

I was mucking about aimlessly, and I clicked on the Media button at the top of the page. It links to this, instead of this. Just thought I'd point that out. --Crimson Knight Intercom 18:27, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

Ahmet the G-Man

So, I've read through the Grand Master talkpage and saw that you once advocated Ahmet to be put there based on the Yerebatan Cistern line. Doesn't seem like it passed, even though I agree with that reasoning and would opt to add him to the page. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 18:42, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Afterwards, I spoke with Darby about it, and he said that he did not write Ahmet to be the Grand Master. He admitted that with that Grand Master line in the game he created some confusion; I don't know if he meant to refer to Ahmet or somebody else, though, but we've no reason to list Ahmet as a Grand Master now. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:57, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Featured Articles on Call of Juarez Wiki

Hello Master Sima Yi, it's Foreborn, the beurocrat of the Call of Juarez Wiki (one of your allied Wikis), you might recall we've spoken a time or two before. I'm sorry to bother you when you're so busy running the Assassin's Creed Wiki, but I've been trying to implement a random featured article system on the Call of Juarez Wiki and unfortunately, I don't know how. I've mentioned before that I started out a couple years back barely knowing anything about Wikia, and this is one of the few things on Wikia I still don't know how to do, and I realize it's probably very simple but I'm at a loss. Everything I've tried does nothing but drive me further up the wall, I'm at my wits end. As you of course know,  the AC Wiki already has what I'm trying to implement on its own main page, and I figured you and your crew would know how this function works. I really hate to bother you, but this is my only recourse.

Thank you for your time,

Foreborn (talk) 00:15, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hello. What exactly is it that you have problems with? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:54, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
I think he's talking about the FA template on our main page, Sima. Seems he's trying to implement that at his wiki.. --70px-SigN1v.png (30px-SigT1v.png35px-SigG1v.png) 14:13, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
What I'm trying to do is have a list of articles (from a category that will be called "Featured Articles"), and one will be selected at random everytime someone visits the main page, and be displayed with a short description and image, and a link to the full article (like on your main page). Unfortunately, I seem to be all thumbs when it comes to figuring out just how to do that and there's practically no information on the internet on how to implement such a system.

Popping in to say it looks nice, though skin tone's just slightly off. Just my opinion on it. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 03:50, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
I know, it's probably because I had to lop off a head from a different image and adjust it by hand, so it's not 100% perfect. I might as well just warez some sort of modeling/posing software over the vacation and make couple of renders for us instead. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 05:00, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
It's still a fabricated render, so my opinion on it is nay. Just use renders when they are given, or else take an in-game picture. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:41, May 30, 2013 (UTC)

A wee bit of update - I've spoken with the guy who made the original image, and he agreed to help us out with fullbody posed models to render out as infobox images. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:13, June 9, 2013 (UTC)

Hello Master,

I have long played the Assassin's Creed games starting with the very first, and have read every single book. I love the series and am a great fan. Although I'm in love with this ambience, it hurts me to know that I have no place in it. It is my utter request that you make an article on Sikhs and their role in this realm. It would be greatly appreciated by all Sikhs accross the world and we would feel much happier to know that we had roles and were apart of something even greater than life itself.

Query Regarding Infoboxes

Hey Master, The bit of Fan Fiction I am writing relates very much to the history of the United Kingdom, and after reading through the information on the United Kingdom page on this wiki I wondered what the rules and reg's were regarding info boxes on fan fictions and more importantly if I would be breaking any rules If I essentially used the info box from the above page on my own, with some minor adjustments. The idea is that the country in some ways is the main character in my story and like how a character page has an info box with relevant info I think this would be helpful to my page.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, --The Lobster Back (talk) 20:28, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

AC:I NDA on Wiki

How strictly do we, as a wiki, follow the Initiates' NDA? Sadelyrate (siniath) 08:05, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

We follow it as the NDA requires of its applicants. The information has not been publicly released, and we don't need to encourage the breaking of the NDA when the people working on Initiates will eventually ask us to remove the information anyway. I'll talk to some people working on it though. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:13, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
I asked about this because the Davenport family painting that currently graces articles on the Wiki sports the Initiates logo quite clearly. However, it's a higher quality version of a picture seen in ACIII.
If it were me, I'd have waited until the assumed lifting of the NDA to post it, just to play it safe. But since it's 'merely' higher quality of media already available, I'm not sure if it's covered by the NDA. Sadelyrate (siniath) 10:53, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
I agree, I'm not really sure either. I'm also a bit conflicted about it, since Initiates also uses images from the Wiki and put the Initiates logo on it. While they are from their games, they don't really mention that the images were taken from here or taken by a specific user here. I think that if that really poses a problem, we will hear about it. :) -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:01, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Master Sima Yi, I asked you a question on the Forum:The Russian Revolution page, detailing where it should begin and where it should end. What are your ideas on this and also different locations to explore? Also thanks for reminding me about Nikolai's retirement from the order before the revolution took place. (I guess then that Daniel can't get a backstory after all in a main game). TRENNER0007 (talk) 08:30, July 21, 2013 (UTC)

I'd say have it begin somewhere around 1914 and end in 1919. Include the Russian theatre of World War I as well as the Russian Revolution. I'm not very knowledgeable about Russian history so I would not know what good locations would be. Saint Petersburg should definitely be in it though, and surely Moscow could find its place in it too (what with the Library of Ivan the Terrible being located there). And yes, I don't know if Daniel could get a game about him. Mostly because he is already over and done with, but also because in AC3 he only seems to talk Russian, indicating that he has only spend time with his Russian ancestors, the Orelovs. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:46, July 21, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I understand you don't know much about Russian history, would you like me to tell you about the revolution as well as what events led to it? I am studying the Russian Revolution.

(Also going back to locations, Yeketarinburg would need to be in it as well, because the Romanovs were executed there) TRENNER0007 (talk) 08:25, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Master, I asked something. Please respond. TRENNER0007 (talk) 10:46, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Please keep your messages in one place, you can't expect me to notice them when they're scattered all over. Ships, cannons, swimming

I hate to bug you again as if you are my mentor but I was hoping for feedback for my sandbox on work regarding ships, swimming, and my suggestion to propose moving mounted cannons to cannons given most cannons are mounted anyway. I'd do it since silence typically suggests no objections. Alientraveller (talk) 20:07, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Ships looks good, but I again see a lot of focus on what the Assassins did rather than the real nature of ships in the text; what the Templars and Assassins did with ships is not very important to the article subject. Also maybe tone down on the amount of images, you only need so many to get a point across. ;) I am not very sure about the necessity of the swimming article; we don't need any article on walking, running and falling etc. either. Go ahead on renaming the mounted cannons article; it's long overdue. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:16, July 22, 2013 (UTC)

Deleting an image

Hi, I was just wondering, can an image be marked for deletion?

I was searching for images for Antioch, and found some online, most of which were already uploaded here on the wiki. However, some of them were higher resolution than the ones currently available on the Wiki. I thought I'd just upload the higher resolution image and then mark the older for deletion, but I don't know if that's actually possible... You are able to delete images, right? If so, please delete "Capture the Flag.jpg", which is the older, lower-res image. On the articles in which said image is used, I'll replace it with the higher-res image ("Antioch - Artifact Assault - 1.jpg") I uploaded today.

I hope this is okay ^^; Crookandcharlatan (talk) 10:02, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

You can mark the old one for deletion and upload the new one if it's higher res. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:41, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

Hi, about the 'unsourced' information you deleted. I didn't put that there, but I did find the place they got it from:'s_Hospital . It's almost a literal copy of what is said there. Landmarks infobox

Hi. Do you have any idea why we have two landmark infoboxes: (Landmark Infobox and Landmarks Infobox)? Both seem to be in use of numerous different articles. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 11:34, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

I have no idea. Both were made by Subject 16* in 2011, I don't know why. Would you be able to tell which of the two is more commonly used? Though perhaps we should go for Landmark Infobox, with the singular term, for consistency with the other infoboxes. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:47, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
Agreed. I'll set up Landmarks as a redirect, although it may mean a handful of incorrectly formatted infoboxes on articles that will need to be fixed afterward. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 08:53, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Sovereignty and Partition

I think it would be very historic if the assassins creed gaming industry , made an assassin that is in Ireland under the sovereignty, partition and the ruling of the united kingdom. if they made a game were u stand as a republican fighting for the Irish and the brotherhood . Take the 1900's up as far as 1940's were Ireland got independence. You could include the 1913 Lockout, 1916 rising (including the excecutions of the 7 leaders that lead the rising), The IRA and the War of Independence, The negotiations of the Treaty, The Civil war(which also brought on the excecutions of politicians, members of the IRA and the death of Irish free state army officers) and The Origins of Northeren Ireland

Altaïr's outfit

How outfits work

Hey, long time no see. Glad you're still running it here on the Wiki. Me being a big fan of Altaïr recently made a change on the Assassin's II outfits page. I was writing about Altaïr's outfit, because most of the game, when I replayed it in Scotland recently, I just wore it. So basically with an outfit like Altaïr's you can't see you armour any more. It just works as a skin. Anyway, I wrote that when you pose as a Borgia guard carrying the chest, you don't see yourself as a guard, but still as Altaïr. But others have reverted it, one saying that this is not how outfits work. I'm not sure what they presume. Not taking it personally, but do they think I'm lying? Or that my eyes deceive me, despite that this already happened several times on different platforms? Doesn't it make sense that you can't see your guard outfit, simply because you're still wearing the Altaïr outfit, which also hides armours you wear. I'm sure it also even hides the masks you wear on the Carnevale, though I can't confirm that, because at that point I wore Altaïr's armour, so I could see both masks you wear. But yeah I couldn't take a screenshot. I don't know how on the Xbox360 anyway. And the problem with ACII, as you well know is that you can't re-visit memories. -- Altaïr 16:26, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

I believe the trivia bits on all the outfit pages already mention that they override the default ones in the memories. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:28, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
I didn't see it. And I just re-read it. It mentions the other glitches (like the second hidden-blade not being visible, that in some cutscenes it reverts back to the armour you wear etc...), But it doesn't mention that other outfits, like the Borgia armor can't be seen. And if it was written down, why not just mention it, instead of saying that what I wrote was not correct. -- Altaïr 16:37, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
Heya Altaïr, glad to see you still stop by occasionally. Yeah, then I don't see why it would need to be removed; if it's not on there, make sure it is. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:12, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
Glad to have your approval. Take care and cya around! -- Altaïr 18:38, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

If that "one guy" is me, Al, I said that IS how outfits work. There are two outfits that can be worn in Assassin's Creed II. If you wore the "Bonus Skin", I'm sure you'd have the same result. That's why I removed it, as that's just how outfits work, and you only mention Altaïr's robes. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 01:25, August 22, 2013 (UTC)

It's not just you who removed it. There was somebody else leaving no explanation. And yes I did quote you, because I'm just surprised. I explained the two missions I recently played where I saw Altaïr's outfit, instead of the guard uniform you should be seeing, so I thought that was worth noting on the wiki. But I just edit here from time to time. And I didn't have proof. So I understand you were sceptical about the data I placed there. I don't know how other outfits work, like the bonus skin you mentioned, which I did try on this new version. And that seemed to work more like another dye of Ezio's default uniform to me. So, I think the bonus skin and Altaïr's outfit work differently compared to each other. -- Altaïr 04:59, August 22, 2013 (UTC)

You mean I don't live on an island? I've been living a lie! :D I guess the island category is more appropriate for if we create articles for the British Isles. Country =/= land.

Anyway, I've been meaning to ask, what's your thoughts on notability? I noticed some characters and places in Project Legacy don't have pages, is there a reason for that? --Alientraveller (talk) 19:19, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

Well, the United Kingdom itself is a kingdom, not necessarily just the island comprising Scotland and England. And no, there isn't a real reason for that; if it exists in the universe and has sufficient information, then it is deserving of its own article. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:21, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

Parent Filter

Hi, Master Sima Yi!

I wanted to swing by and let you know of a new feature we've recently released for interested sites. It's called the Parent Filter and can be accessed through adding /wiki/MediaWiki:ParentFilter to the end of the site's url.

The purpose is two-fold: 1) to provide information to parents about the site's subject from people who are actually very familiar with the content and 2) to eventually provide a home or hub for all such pages parents can visit.

Here's a great example of the feature put to use.

You can learn more about it here. Feel free to throw any questions or comments you might have into that blog.

Best regards,

Video Sweepstake Page?

Hey there Sima Yi!

So recently Ubisoft wanted to reach out about hosting a sweepstakes for the Assassin's Creed community that could potentially give a random winner a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One. We'd have to host this on an article page though, as it features a video embed. I wanted to reach out today to see if that's something the AC Community would allow and if you could protect the page for the length of the sweepstakes. Let me know if you're interested. If not, we can try an alternate route.

Deleting blog comments

Sima, whilst I appreciate your efforts to keep comments on your blogs "on-topic", I don't think deleting those comments you deem to have offended the rules is the right way to go. Besides the fact that it completely deletes any record of the user's contributions, it also leaves, in my honest opinion, a whiff of censorship in the air.

Clearly, this is my personal opinion, and you're free to acknowledge or ignore it as you see fit, but I thought you should know. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 11:06, October 11, 2013 (UTC)

With people treating blog comments like Facebook or YouTube comments and people coming here with the sole purpose of 'chatting' with other users via blogs, I am going to write out a blog policy proposal this weekend with which I hope to see a diminishing amount of what I consider to be pointless and short blog comments that, in my opinion, have been ruining the wiki lately. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:16, October 11, 2013 (UTC)

Wiki rename proposal

Honestly, a wiki as big and with as good of information as this one, in my opinion, needs a more recognizable/notable name than "Assassin's Creed Wiki", which I feel is too bland for a wiki such as this one.

I'm just proposing a rename, but I only have one name idea that comes to mind: Abstergo Archives.(NOTE: This is just an idea that came to my head at the moment; feel free to change it, if you do at least think about this proposal) Why? Well, because it sounds like a good name for an Assassin's Creed database; not to mention that you guys seem to use a few Abstergo themes in your design (ex: the Abstergo logo in your article category boxes).

You can ignore me, or you can at least consider it. I will tell you that, statistically, Wikia hosted wikis that have a unique name tend to be more active, notable, and popular than wikis with a bland name only composed of the name of the subject-topic of the wiki with "Wiki" thrown to the back of it. To back up my claim, I will list wikis that are/were ("were" being for the wikis that forked/split and lost popularity) very popular, with their wiki name probably playing a huge part in said popularity:

  • The Vault / Nukapedia - a wiki about Fallout that had a jaw-dropping amount of traffic prior to their split; Wikia was probably earning a crap-load of money during those days. And even after the split, the wiki still has a huge amount of traffic, but I highly doubt the wiki would have attracted so much traffic if it wasn't for it's unique name.
  • WoWWiki - Now I know this wiki doesn't really have a super unique name, but something about a simple "WoWWiki" got people going. WoWWiki used to be Wikia's "poster wiki" if you will. The amount of people who visited this site is just... "wow". Though the wiki is pretty much dead now, it was once a place where a person would edit once every one/two minutes.
  • Wookieepedia - I can't leave out Wikia's sci-fi holy grail; Wookieepedia is almost never called "Star Wars Wiki". For this wiki to have been founded so long ago and to still be so active is amazing.
  • Halopedia / Halo Nation - not really hard to believe that a wiki about Halo was once great, with someone editing there every, I guess, four minutes most days. Things went down there that caused a split, and now, though still popular, the wiki is pretty much split in traffic.
  • Combine OverWiki / Half-Life Wiki - though nobody visits it much anymore, the wiki used to be quite popular. But, things happened, they lost one of the best content editors I've seen in my life (a guy named Klow; he added most of the content you see there) and another amazing user who acted as the wiki's tech-admin (a guy name Bramblepath; he came up with the name as well, if I'm correct). After that, the wiki went down the drain in traffic, and they didn't even come up with a long-lasting replacement name.

Now, I know most of that was kind of like a Wikia history lesson (I got a little carried away; this is a wiki about history anyway lol), but those were once (and some still) very popular, high-traffic wikis.

I hope that I have persuaded you to at least see what the rest of the community thinks about the idea of changing the wiki's name. I think it would be highly beneficial to the wiki, giving the wiki the traffic/attention it deserves. ~Anonymous 00:52, October 12, 2013 (UTC)

An interesting thought. I'll think about it and discuss it with others, but it's not a decision we'll make lightly. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:16, October 13, 2013 (UTC)
I'm following this up, since I haven't noticed anything further since the original message was posted. I would be quite interested in a name change for the site (something along the lines of Abstergo Database?). Do you want to put this to the community in a forum? --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 16:17, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

Sultans of Egypt category

Sima, I want to recommend that you could rename the category page of Sultans of Egypt into Rulers of Egypt because in my opinion, it is more precise if you say rulers rather than Sultans.

Changing AC3 category

Hi Sima,

Could you please edit Category:Assassin's Creed III for me, since it's protected (for some reason), by changing Category:Games to Category:Real world video games? Ta. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 01:02, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

Also, can we have Timeline article opened to editing? It's not really that high-traffic page. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:28, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
I can and will, but I would like to suggest a different name for the category since 'Real world video games' is very inconsistent with 'Books and Comics' and 'Novels' etc. I propose renaming these to 'Real world books' and 'Real world comics' etc. for consistency. I won't open the Timeline for editing, since it was never a high traffic page but for some magical reason it is a HUB for fan fiction writers to edit their favorite fan fiction to non-stop. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 07:38, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
I wouldn't disagree with adding 'real word books' as a category. I think that, with the expanding nature of the IP, we're gonna have to make similar changes in future either way. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 08:33, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
I'd personally keep books and comics separate, as I do not really consider them the same thing. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:08, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
EDIT: Also note that edit summaries like 'Grammar, please' do not cut it and are frustratingly annoying. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 09:18, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
Well when I have something more to say in my edit summary, I will say it. With regards to splitting books and comics, I think we originally merged them after some disagreements over what fell into which category, but I'm open to them being divided (assuming no disagreements re-occur). --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 09:46, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

Alternate timeline v non-canon

There's a difference between an alternate timeline and non-canon. The events portrayed in TOKW are clearly in an alternate timeline (even then, it's only a projection that occurs in the 'main timeline'), whereas the modern-day events in the French comics are, as far as I'm aware, non-canon. (That is, not in an alternate timeline.)

It would be misleading to suggest that non-canon material is simply another timeline, but I'm digressing from my intended point. As it stands, non-canon material is not allowed on our articles, which leaves us with two options: 1) we ignore our policy and keep it on the article, or 2) we create a separate article - perhaps William Miles (French comic) - label it with a Non-canon template and dump the text there.

Any thoughts on the matter? --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 11:34, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

I am aware, and those two options are what I am thinking of right now. The 'alternate timeline' labelling has been there since the announcement of TToKW, back before we knew it was 'canon'. I do not see any issue it may cause with the policy and the Non-Canon template lists it can apply to sections as well, but I am open to the second option too. Provided that it is not named (French comic), as they are no longer 'French comics' since they have been released in multiple languages now, including English. "William Miles (non-canon)" would be better, IMO. What does your preference go to? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:41, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

I agree with Sima's second option ( that is, the William Miles non-canon) so that we can properly segregate some French comics' info from the main canon timeline. -- AgentG-sig.png AgentG-talk.png 11:49, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
I think William Miles (non-canon) would be best; if, in future, Ubisoft retcon the non-canon material to simply be an 'alternate timeline, then we can merge them one more. It would also be a good idea to add a "See also" section at the foot of the main William Miles article, I think. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 12:35, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
Very well, let's do that then. I think if anybody has any objections to that, we'll hear it soon enough. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 12:38, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
AS you can see from the no-longer redlink, it is done. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 15:42, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
If this is the case, Desmond and other characters appearing in both canon and non canon universes should be separated too. As it is, non canon William's page links him as the father of canon Desmond. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:16, October 22, 2013 (UTC)
Let's do it then. We'll just have to remember to alter the links in Template:ACFC so that they all lead to "xxx (non-canon)" where appropriate. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 16:19, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Launch Plans/Requests

Hey there Master Sima Yi,

Just wanted to check in with you and some of the other Assassin's Creed admins to see if you guys needed any help with the Wiki before the Black Flag launch. It seems you have it more than under control, but we just like to check in and make sure you guys have everything you need before a new title launch. Help with organization, new templates, and custom art are all things we're more than happy to help with.

That said, do you guys have any plans for the launch outside of getting all the new content up? If not, we'd be happy to organzine some polls, community awards, or quizzes.

Anyways, please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything. Many thanks for all your work on the Assassin's Creed Wiki!

Mhadick (talk) 20:59, October 22, 2013 (UTC)

I'll chime in and say that anything we can do to celebrate the launch will be a good thing, but given the relatively short period of time before said launch, it might be difficult to find something we can do. Personally, I like the idea of a cross-wiki quiz; something that gets the reader actively searching our articles for the answers. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 09:31, October 23, 2013 (UTC)
I agree with Jasca, some polls, community awards and quizzes would be good for the community. If you have any ideas about those, I'm eager to hear about them. :) -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:24, October 23, 2013 (UTC)
I'm sure that a few users on here would be more than happy to provide some fairly challenging questions if a quiz was the route chosen... Maybe throw in a free copy of Black Flag as a prize *hint hint*. I'm going to be attending MCM London this weekend, so I shall see if I can wrangle some answers out of the Ubi crew who are there. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 16:20, October 24, 2013 (UTC)
I like the sound of Community Choice Awards. If guys want to help me come up with some categories and options related to Black Flag, similar to what we did here for Grand Theft Auto V, we can get design working on some custom headers and plan for a late November or early December launch. Let me know what you think.

French Comics

I've been wondering about this for a while. What do we consider canon in regards to the comics? I know Aquilus is canon, but what about Accipter & so on? I am aware that the modern-day side isn't canon. Could anything in relation to the past be considered canon?

I am assuming that nothing in regards to these comics is canon until confirmed by Ubi. In that case, shouldn't there be a notice at the top of their respective pages? I have only seen these kind of notices on the top of the modern-day articles.

P.S. If you're wondering why I'm asking, it's because I want to know if I should invest in these for extra lore or if it's not worth it.

Thanks :)

Outsider (talk) 20:44, October 25, 2013 (UTC)

Everything that does not contradict the canon established in the games, comics etc. is considered canon. Hence, everything modern-day related in the 'French' comics is not canon, and everything related to Aquilus, Accipiter and Numa is. The Encyclopedia can back that up. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 22:54, October 25, 2013 (UTC)

Apparently, you're the one who's an idiot. For all intents and purposes, Duncan Walpole gets inducted into the Templars, not Edward, since he came to the Templars under assumed identity just for the money. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:24, October 27, 2013 (UTC)

Read the rules and guidelines. You are providing unsourced info from a game that is not yet officially released. As a public website, we cannot allow info that is not yet aimed to public to be published here. There's a reason why those walkthroughs keep getting deleted. Your insulting behaviour is obviously not acceptable but I will ignore that for now. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:26, October 27, 2013 (UTC)

Release Date

You said until the release date of Australia's. So does that mean the World Wide release at October 29, 2013 or Australia release at November 21, 2013? --Cococrash11 (talk) 21:20, October 27, 2013 (UTC)

The worldwide release, of course. Australia is in a different timezone, it'll be October 29 there when it's still October 28 in the rest of the world. When it is about 3pm in the UK, it's 12pm in Australia, if I remember correctly. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:23, October 27, 2013 (UTC)

While I agree with your edits to to the Abstergo Entertainment page, but there is one thing. I believe Subject 1, should stay Sample 1, because in the email you receive when you hack your boss's computer, it clearly states Sample 1 is where they obtained the genetic material for Liberation. This, I assume, is because they obtained DNA samples from Subject 1 postmortem like they did Desmond after his death. That is why they refer to the project your assigned as Sample 17. This is explained in the video you receive after unlocking the hacking mini game for the first time. I hope you take this into consideration. Himehimine (talk) 18:55, October 30, 2013 (UTC)

The samples are the DNA extractions from the individual Animus subjects. Since I changed the wording to say 'extracted', I changed it to Subject 1 because they extracted Aveline's DNA from him, not from the sample. The sample already is the extracted DNA. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 18:59, October 30, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks your stance makes much more sense now that you have explained it.

Can you delete the page? nucl3arsnake (talk) 20:18, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for being polite. Yes, I can, but I've deleted it three times now. Thing is that each of the three field missions in AC3 are officially named in-game. Do they deserve their own article? I don't see why not, but I am not sure Return to Abstergo is the actual name. If only you could replay them after the game ends as well as before it ends, I could go check right now. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 20:26, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

I'll chime in on this. We can just move the dialogue bits to 2012 conversations, since Skyscrapper mission is already documented there. These missions aren't really memories, and we'd have to make an article for every modern day bit otherwise, if we want to be thorough, but that would be kinda pointless on the long run, since we have them all neatly arranged in the above link for one, and don't have a "Modern day events" or something category. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 16:26, November 10, 2013 (UTC)
No, there are three 'field missions' in AC3 directly labelled as missions. We don't need to have articles for anything else. The 2012 conversations page is only there for editors to look back up on quotes, not because it's a quality page. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:37, November 10, 2013 (UTC)

No. Perhaps User:Gabriel Auditore. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 16:38, November 10, 2013 (UTC)

Anon block

Sima, there's an anon who's causing all sorts of issues on the Levant and SAVAK articles (as I'm sure you're aware). His removal of information and threatening behaviour has, I believe, gone on too long.

I've just warned him that his actions are likely to get him banned very soon, but I'm not expecting him to stop... --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 09:55, November 15, 2013 (UTC)

Military categories

I was thinking of moving Category:British Army to Category:British armed forces (or Category:British armed forces personnel), so that we can incorporate those individuals (and ships) in Black Flag that made up the Royal Navy. The same could then be done with the Spanish, French and, if necessary, Portuguese categories.

It's a somewhat large change, so I thought I would run it by you first and get your opinion. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 13:51, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

I'll have to get back to you on this later, out of time right now. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:27, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

I originally intended to have the British Army category for the British Army and the Royal Navy and anything else related to it, and to make a separate category called Military personnel of the British Army. Though I do not think the navies have enough characters to really make the implemention of a separate 'Military personnel of the Royal Navy' category worthwhile. I'm fine with the transition. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:42, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

H-Hi. Sorry for taking your time, I'm admin. and bure. of another wiki did you put "Mentore" has your Title(is title the name for that?) instead of "Administrator"?

I am confused.

"(Undo revision 522102 by Jasca Ducato (talk) Now this is inaccurate. While not aptly named, the Colonial Assassins are specifically the Brotherhood located in the Thirteen Colonies.)"
―Colonial Assassins history.

Honestly Sima, I don't get why you'd stick to this reason, but before that, you had redirected the "French Colonial Assassins" page to Colonial Assassins. If it's supposed to be redirected, why not create the Colonial Assassins page into one that encompasses all the Colonial Brotherhoods, but offers the distinct reason why each of them are kept apart.

As it stands, we have no real term to refer to Assassin Brotherhoods featured in Liberation and Black Flag if AC3 gets to keep "Colonial Assassins" all to itself. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:10, November 25, 2013 (UTC)

I stick to this reason because it's what we're provided with. From Achilles' database: "You may not think it to look at him how, but this man was once the Mentor of a powerful branch of the Assassins - the Colonial Brotherhood." As you're well aware, Achilles was not the Mentor of the Assassins outside the Thirteen Colonies; Agaté was the Mentor in Louisiana, and someone else had authority over the Assassins in the Caribbean. They're not a singular Brotherhood.

Naming the Assassins in Louisiana as the "French Colonial Assassins" would be improper, as it would refer only to the Assassins found in Louisiana and not in the other French colonies. "Colonial Assassins" does that as well, but it's a canon term. "Louisianan Assassins" would be more apt since Agaté, as far as we know, only was superior to Aveline and Gérald. Which makes three, and I'm not even sure if that would qualify as a proper 'Brotherhood'. Perhaps the latest edition of the Encyclopedia names them properly, as well as the Thirteen Colonies Assassins?

And we already have Caribbean Assassins. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:40, November 26, 2013 (UTC)

Question about punctuation standard

Hello! I know this is a very small issue in the grand scheme of things, but I was directed to you for clarification. Does this wiki go by British or American standards of punctuation? Specifically, do we go by the British standard of commas and periods outside quotes when it's just a word or two (i.e. She affectionately referred to it as "Baby".) or the American standard where they are inside (i.e. She affectionately referred to it as "Baby.") regardless of length of quoted material?

Like I said, it's a small issue, but there seems to be some back and forth on it and I thought it best to get clarification.

Molotov.cockroach (talk) 06:50, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

The games use the former standard, so we should as well. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 13:41, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

All right, sound fair. Thank you for the clarification.

Molotov.cockroach (talk) 18:04, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

Timeline sections in the timeline category?

Sorry to bug you again so soon, but I wanted to check that this was all right before going ahead with it: should pages that cover the timelines of entire centuries (i.e. the Timeline:12th century page) go in the timeline category? I saw that the Timeline:18th century article was there and added one more, but thought it best to ask before continuing so I don't unknowingly do anything counterproductive. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 02:02, December 10, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, nevermind. Looks like some other users are adding them already, so I'll finish up. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 01:55, December 11, 2013 (UTC)

No, they definitely should not be. They are an experiment by me, and nothing else. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:26, December 11, 2013 (UTC)

Since that does not seems to have been clear to people from the start, and that nobody begs the question why those pages can be edited when the main one cannot, I am now deleting them. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:28, December 11, 2013 (UTC)

All right, that sounds fair. If you'd rather, I can undo my edits to the pages, unless you're set on deleting them. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 02:45, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

They've already been deleted. I'm gonna work on another alternative solution for the immense Timeline article. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:07, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, I was thinking that you would be the most appropriate person to approach with regards to affiliation. I come from the Watch Dogs wiki and think that it could be a good thing if another wiki concerning an Ubisoft product were affiliated.

Fandom article

I don't plan to write anything till new year but I thought I'd better get your opinion before then. I've noticed there are some fanon character articles and would like to write one about Private Eye magazine, (as it's the closet the .U.K. has to an Assassin publication). The general idea it it is a neutral organisation and publication that an Assassin agent guided early on into carrying out/publishing government and or corporate corruption and or incompetance and has been allowed to carry on, (albeit socially discredited) by the british Templars as part of the illussion of a free press and using it to keep track of and laugh at government and corporate figures stupid enough to get caught. GWR4019 (talk) 23:23, December 20, 2013 (UTC)

Sounds good. When you're up for it, see what you can make out of it. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:54, December 20, 2013 (UTC)

I've run into an unexpected problem because of the lack of information regarding the Templar/Assassin's during .W.W.2. specifically the extent the Assassins knew it was a Templar plot as it partially effects the proposed Assasin agent Claud Cockburn's reasoning, (ie: Was he anti facism because of he thought it was Templar orchestrated or simply it's anti socialist and civil rights nature?). Could you tell me if there's any, "Brit" expert users as I need some expert opinions on a few other people possibly being Assassins.GWR4019 (talk) 00:03, January 23, 2014 (UTC)

Strange squiggle in AC 3

Some time ago, I found some sort of glowing squiggle in AC III. It's above the water near the Aquilia at the Homestead. I haven't found anything about it online. I thought I'd ask someone from the Assassins Wiki because they would know more about it than I would. If you're interested in taking a look, I took three regrettably low quality pictures with my PSP camera. My phone is busted at the moment. Still, the pictures give a general idea, and you could take a look in AC III yourself since one shows the location of the glowing object.

Indian Assassin page

Once I find an emblem for the Indian Assassins can I re-add the info box to the page? Raghava Shah 21:29, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

There's too little information to add to the infobox that's not in the article's content itself. And there is no insignia for the Indian Assassins, there's no use in searching for one I'm afraid. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:33, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

What about the one on the cover of Brahman? Raghava Shah 21:41, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure if that's an insignia... -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:45, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

Well, isn't it cause it is an Indian version of the Assassin symbol and I've already asked Gabriel Auditore to crop it so the background and words are gone. It might also be the closest thing we are gonna get. Raghava Shah 21:48, December 26, 2013 (UTC)

On the IRC, what did you mean by '/Part of the Order'? MB543 (talk) 15:53, December 29, 2013 (UTC)MB543

I was wondering if you could add Pyara Kaur to the Brahman infobox under others. Thanks! Raghava Shah 03:51, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

I've noticed that several pages, including ones for Bastienne Josephe, Port-au-Prince, and the general timeline are lacking in significant ways, namely the lack of photos for Bastienne and Port-au-Prince, and the events of Assassin's Creed IV being completely absent from the timeline. I am simply curious as to the state of attention devoted to remedying this situation. Thanks!

Asking permission

Salute Master Sima!

With all due respect I hereby would like to ask your permission to use the template called 'Navbox' on my own AC Wiki (, and also all the templates that are related to that(meaning the templates called ACSeries, AC1, AC2, etc.)

As you might know, I normally wouldn't ask for such a thing, and I actually never used any of you guys' personal work, but now it'd just really make my job much easier if you let me borrow the template(s) I mentioned. If necessary, I might even redesign them as soon as possible, so that I don't use the exact same piece of work.

Thank you very much for your answer in advance.

Establishing a Media Policy/Guidelines for Assassin's Creed Wiki

Hi Master Sima Yi,

My name is Luis and I am a Community Support Manager (ES) and Video Community Lead at Wikia. I had a few questions regarding the Assassin's Creed Wiki and was told you were the person to speak to.

As you know Wikia is currently working with communities to create Video Policies/Guidelines to their specific Wikias. As you may already know Wikia currently has been establishing an expansive library of fully licensed Wikia videos covering various forms of entertainment.

Video Swap (LVS) is our newest tool which allows admins to quickly swap videos from outside providers to the same (or very similar) video that exists in our library at Wikia Video. All our videos are fully licensed with no expiration date.

We are always looking to improve on what we can provide to our users and if it was ok with you, we would like to know what we can do to better your experience.

Lastly we want to encourage communities to create a Video Policy/Guidelines that cater to the needs of your Wikia community regarding the uploading of any media for users to reference when visiting your site if you haven't done so already. If so, do you think you could link me to it? I would greatly appreciate it! We will we doing a feature on Wikias with Video Policy/Guidelines in the near future in order for those Wikias that need references to get some help in establishing their own.

Here are a few examples:

Thanks again for your time!
