Hey folks,

With only two days left until the release of Assassin's Creed III for the consoles, the Staff of this wiki would like to remind the community about a few things.

YT Walkthroughs[]

First off we'd like to talk about the leaked content. A few people have received their copies of ACIII earlier than the official launch date and most are excited to discuss what they may have watched. However, there are gamers who prefer not to be spoiled of the excitement this series has to offer. Therefore, we request users and anonymous contributors to avoid posting any potential spoilers until the official release of the games.

A few have already been warned since they decided to ignore the site notice and upload screenshots from ripped videos and adding information. For the next two days, please refrain from uploading screenshots or updating content.

Editing[]

New articles[]

Most wiki's prefer to lock out users from editing for a few days to avoid spoilers after the release date ( and to play). We however, will not be locking the wiki for users willing to edit. Editors are requested to follow the Manual of style while creating new articles. We request new editors to make sure that the information you decide to add is relevant with appropriate tense. If you are unaware of the standard formatting for articles of a particular category, you can refer to an article in similar category.

Editors are also suggested to add {{Spoilerhd}} template to any article related to Assassin's Creed III and ACIII: Liberation. Users who want to avoid any spoilers (information and images) are suggested to use Special:RecentChanges instead of Special:WikiActivity.

Images[]

As much as we appreciate the enthusiasm of users willing to rip youtube videos to upload images for new article, we request you to upload relevant images. Make sure that the image you upload can be used in article. Cropped or any unnecessary images will be deleted. Quality images in png format are preferred. Uploaders are suggested to use Special:Upload or Special:MultipleUpload while uploading as you can add the {{Information}} template along with your uploads.

Incase you use the upload option from the article, make sure to add the sourcing template to the image after you have completed your editing.

Discussions[]

As I have mentioned above, many users of this community haven't played the game yet. Therefore avoid creating new blogs or forums until November 1, 2012. We request users to mark any blog/forums containing spoilers for deletion. Users are also advised to make sure that a similar post has not been created, since we'd like to keep discussion about similar topics within a single blog or forum.

While creating a new blog or forum, keep the title relevant while avoiding spoilers in the title. Please do not add any category to your blogs and forums apart from the default category placed while creation.

Helping out[]

Patrolling[]

Members willing to help the staff maintain and monitor the new content can contact us on our talk pages or the IRC. If you do not have a client, you can use "Beginner" to log in. Choose a nick and hit enter.

If you come across irrelevant articles/blogs/forums, you can mark it for deletion by adding {{Delete}} template. Users are also requested to avoid edit warring. Take the dispute to the article's talk page rather than commenting in the edit summary.

Vandalism[]

If you come across any vandalism, please mention that in the edit summary while reverting. Suggested summary formats are rvv, vandal or the default "reverting vandalism". Please report the vandalism to the active administrator if continued across multiple articles. We also request you to avoid any discussion on the admins talk page about the vandalism once it has been reported.

Posting messages "advising" or warning them is useless, so please avoid that.

If you have any further questions, you can either contact an active staff member or post your questions in the comments.
