To Catch a Demon was a virtual representation of one of Basim Ibn Ishaq's genetic memories relived through the Animus.
Description[]
Basim tracks down Al-A'eshma.
Dialogue[]
Basim reached the Sharqiyah harbor where admiral Nadir occasionally operated from.
- Basim: This is the harbor. Now to find Admiral Nadir.
After managing to infiltrate the site, he found a diagram on a table in a building.
- Basim: This is a detailed diagram of a strange-looking ship.
Returning outside, he found a note of a body held in a cage.
Shipment Notice
- Shipments bearing the Warlord's insignia are to be sent directly to the camp south of River Tigris. No exceptions.
- Admiral Nadir

Basim outside the Southern Camp
Basim left the harbor and headed south, where he found a military garrison by the swamp. He sneaked inside and looked around the camp.
- Soldier 1: It's just my luck to be sent to the biggest dung pile in all of Sharqiyah.
- Soldier 2: This camp is the worst I've ever seen in all my years as a soldier. Rats live better.
He read a note on a table near a number of oil jars.
Guard Orders
- No torches are to be taken near the prototype. Any man found doing so will not only lose a month's wages, he will spend a week in the Great Garrison at the pleasure of the Warlord.
- Admiral Nadir
- Basim: Admiral Nadir is very concerned about keeping fire away from his prototype ship.
He overheard soldiers gossiping about their superior.
- Soldier 3: The admiral is all talk. I've never heard bluster so much and do so little. Not even you.
- Soldier 4: Shut up! If the Admiral doesn't beat you to stop your complaining, I will.
Basim approached near the prototype ship.
- Soldier: The Admiral cares more for tis precious model ship than his own men, and look at it. I'm surprised it floats.
- Basim: It would be a pity if that little ship caught fire.

The prototype ship ablaze
Basim found a large number of oil jars on the ship and set it on fire, causing the ship to be set ablaze.
- Soldier: No, no no! Put it out! Hurry! He'll take our heads!
The ship on fire attracted the attention of admiral Nadir, who came out of hiding from the building.
- Al-A'eshma: Guards, lock down the camp! Find the one responsible! No one who dares raise their hand against me escapes. I didn't survive a hundred ocean battles to suffer insult! I want the dogs found! Bring them to me, or you'll feel the bite of my lash yourselves!
With Nadir out in the open, Basim assassinated him and recovered a note on his body.
Angy Missive
- Al-A'eshma,
Yet another shipment of military supplies has gone missing. That is the second time in as many months. I do not need to tell you what the consequences would be if the Caliph were to discover the contents of those shipments.
The harbor and everything in it is under your control. I hold you personally responsible for what passes through it. I expect a full accounting of everything that has gone in and out of Sharqiyah in the past year on my desk when I return.
Do not test me on this.
- Al-Mardikhwar
- Basim: A letter from Al-Mardikhwar about missing shipments belonging to the Turkic mercenaries. The Admiral was stealing.
Basim left the camp.
- Basim: That is two down. I should return to Fuladh.
Outcome[]
Basim eliminated the Order member and uncovered some information about their leader in Sharqiyah.
