As many of you have probably started to notice recently, I am really starting to lose interest in AC. This all started with the announcement of Syndicate. It just looked so boring. I know some people like this because it means the game is less likely to be a mess on release, but I feel like Ubi are using all the hate directed at Unity as an excuse for not trying anymore. And I don't know about you, but I am not cool with that. It's pathetic. If they expect me to give them money every year, I want something that will change things up.
Despite what the haters think, Ubi have always done something worth noting every year until now, whether that be narratively or mechanically. What have they got to offer this year? Carriage riding... yay!
Obviously I'm not the first to feel this way, & I've seen many people over the years just give up. But I feel like I'm a worthy example to show how AC has gone wrong. I've followed the series since the first game, it being the reason I bought a new console, & every year I have always pre-ordered a collector's edition. This has resulted in me having very little money to buy other things that I'm interested in. But for the first time in 8 years, I just don't want to anymore. It's not fatigue either; it's Ubi's inability to do what the fans actually want to see. The setting isn't enough!
It's worth saying, though, that I haven't given up as such. But if next year is the same old rubbish we're being subjected to this year, I'm not going to even consider getting it.
Do any of you lot feel the same?
