The Stink Brew was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[]
Eivor met a woman in Ledecestre who asked for help to be rid of snakes.
Dialogue[]
Near the edge of Ledecestre, Eivor came across an old fountain and a group of men standing over a grate beside it.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 1: Ah! Warm draft coming from that grate. Feels nice.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 2: Smell nice? Because I just got done pissing in it.
The second man laughed.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 1: Well, you're an arsehole, you know that?
On the side of the fountain, Eivor found a note.
- Strange Sounds
It is likely my mind playing tricks on me, but I swear the grumbles from that grate sound like a person often times. Certainly no one can be living down there, can they?
Eivor found an entrance to the underground Roman ruins, surrounded by snakes. Making her way inside, she heard a woman screaming for eggs.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Eggs! Eggs! Eggs! Eggs! You deaf?
Eivor found the woman on the other side of some bars, in a room underneath the grate Eivor had seen above. Eivor approached and spoke to her.
- Eivor: Say that again?
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: You heard me! I need eggs. Viper eggs. Crusty little shits won't go away. This is my land, I was here first. So as I said, bring me viper eggs, and I'll make sure they leave and never come back.
- Eivor: Provoking snakes is not how I planned to spend my day, but that could change.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: A reward, yes, I understand your meaning. Bring me the eggs and it will be done.
Eivor found two snakes nearby, collected the eggs and returned to the woman.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Yes! O! More. More viper eggs.
Eivor left, killed three snakes and returned with three eggs.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: O... that's much better. Getting closer... now. I can feel it. More eggs. More!
Eivor left, killed four snakes and returned with the last four eggs. The woman then expelled flatulence from ingesting the eggs, filling the area with a noxious smell.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Ooah...! Yes!
Eivor coughed and gagged.
- Eivor: I knew I would regret this.
The woman laughed.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: That nearly turned my insides out. O, I wish I could see the stir I've caused above.
- Eivor: My reward, before I choke to death.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: As we agreed. Well? Have you nothing to say after such a forceful breaking of wind?
Eivor coughed again.
- Eivor: It blew me away.
The woman laughed maniacally as Eivor made her way to the surface, where she found the flatulent cloud spewing up from the grate near the fountain, causing the gathered men to gag and vomit.
- Anglo-Saxon Man 1: O, God! The smell. I can't!
- Anglo-Saxon Man 2: O, my throat! It's like someone has poured salt in it!
The men fled the area.
Outcome[]
Eivor gave the woman nine snake eggs, and was "rewarded" with a cloud of flatulence and a key to unlock the nearby cellar with two chests inside.
