- "The Greek world bows to us. We are the new Gods."
- ―The Mytilenian Shark's motto.[src]
The Mytilenian Shark (died c. 420s BCE) was a member of the Gods of the Aegean Sea branch of the Cult of Kosmos during the Peloponnesian War.
Biography[]
The man known as the Mytilenian Shark gained reputation with his ability to hide things, and combined with his willingness to go to any lengths to keep the secrets hidden, he became a member of the Cult of Kosmos, which demanded and valued secrecy.[1]
Sometime prior to the Peloponnesian War, the Mytilenian Shark was captain of a ship named the Shark's Head. On the orders of the Sage of his branch, he sunk the ship by crashing it into a sunken palace north of Thera.[2] Sometime after, the Mytilenian Shark became the captain of a new heavy trireme, the Eurybia, courtesy of Machaon of the Silver Vein.[3]
However, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found the wreck of the Shark's Head, and within she found a note revealing her former captain, as well as the crest of the Southern Sporades. These led her to find the Mytilenian Shark sailing south of Samos on the Eurybia. Battle followed, during which the Adrestia, commanded by Kassandra and captained by Barnabas, sank the Eurybia, and the Mytilenian Shark was slain.[4]
