The Good Men of Sherwood was a virtual representation of one of Eivor Varinsdottir's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[]
Eivor encountered two men and a woman engaged in archery practice.
Dialogue[]
Eivor came upon an archery lesson in the forest.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Ready. Aim. Fire! How difficult could this possibly be? You nock your arrow into the bowstring, pull it back, aim, and fire! Try again! Lord save us all if we ever have to rely on you lot to defend us with bows. Remember, faint aim never won fair battle. Again!
Eivor joined in, hitting a target.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Unbelievable. Which one of you did that?
- Eivor: I did.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: What marvelous aim. For a moment, I thought my training was getting into these thick skulls.
Eivor approached the woman.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: See if you can hit one of the targets above.
- (If Eivor ran out of time)
- Little John: Hey, stop messin' around!
- Eivor tried again.
Eivor did as instructed.
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: That was sound aim! Amazing!
- Tuck: That was a fluke, I bet.
- Little John: Yeh! I bet you can't hit that... uhhh... that chicken, right o'er there! The one hanging from the pole!
Eivor approached the large man.
- Little John: Go on then, hit that hanging chicken from here. No cheatin'!
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Huh, to hit that chicken would require some kind of special technique.
- (If Eivor ran out of time)
- Little John: Hey, stop messin' around!
- Eivor tried again.
Eivor aimed and hit her target.
- Little John: Wha... thas mad!
- Anglo-Saxon Woman: Extraordinary. That was true skill and aim. On the mark! Well, friend, you can count on us to lend a hand against King Constantin and his well paid Picts. And thank you for showing these turnips some skilled marksmanship. Visit us again. As for the rest of you, keep practicing!
As the others once again picked up their bows, Eivor noticed a note on a table near.
- Hastily Scribbled Note:
More goods! More silver! The poor grow more desperate everyday while the Pict camps overflow with their stolen silver and supplies. Any amount you can give might save a starving child.
Outcome[]
Eivor showed the archers how archery is really done, hitting all targets within the time limit.
Trivia[]
- Eivor can donate money at their donation box, choosing between 100 or 500 silver.
- This memory's name, Little John, Tuck and the archery are all references to the tales of Robin Hood from English folklore, who lived in Sherwood Forest.
