The Chapter House was an altered representation of one of Aguilar de Nerha's genetic memories.
Aguilar's Journal[]
Now that our new base of operations is secured, it is time to focus on our main task. We need to stop Torquemada, and to do so we must first discover what he has planned. His trusted lieutenant Ojeda has been known to visit a local Dominican Chapter House.
The friars there may hold knowledge we require to begin our fight. We will pay them a visit without attracting attention.
Dialogue[]
The Assassins met outside the church.
- Assassin 1: This is the Templar Chapter House. We should be able to find some leads as to their plans within.
The Assassins sneaked into the building and soon entered a long room where a single soldier guarded a book on a lectern. After killing the guard, the Assassins looked at the book.
- Assassin: Hmm, this letter may hold some clues... It's correspondence to a merchant named 'Hassan'. Sounds like he's selling out his competitors as heretics. Let's keep looking.
The Assassins continued on and reached the complex's back room which was lined with benches and had another guard posted to protect a second book. They killed this guard as well and read the second note.
- Assassin: Another letter... Invoices of donations from Hasan to Torquemada. Far more than a simple merchant could afford. Hm. The second time this 'Merchant Hasan' has been mentioned. We ought pay him a visit. Let's regroup at our HQ.
The Assassins returned to their base to rest after the mission.
- Aguilar: Let's build a Living Quarters so we can rest and regain our strength.
The Assassins build a Living Quarters.
- Aguilar: It costs Intel to go on Missions. Let's build an Intel Room.
The Assassins built and Intel Room.
- Aguilar: Excellent! We've mastered every type of Mission and build all vital HQ Rooms. Let's claim our rewards and being our campaign against Torquemada in earnest!
Outcome[]
The Spanish Assassins visited the chapter house and found that Ojeda was using it as a dead drop to communicate with a corrupt local merchant who was helping fund the Templars' actions.
Behind the scenes[]
In the game's original release, the mission had no dialogue and the two retrieved documents displayed as pop-ups for players to read instead of having the characters comment on them. In order, the notes were:
- Merchant Hassan: We want to express our gratitude for your help to the cause. By selling those heretics possessions, you are arming the rightful and the holy Church. — Ojeda
- Merchant Hassan: We expect to receive your next financial contribution to the cause by the end of the month. Proceed as usual. — Ojeda
Additionally, Aguilar's lines at the end following the mission were first put in the game's original tutorial instead of in the first side-mission.
