Work in Progress

Made a start on these. I'll work on the Featured and Good eras, along with some others, tomorrow. Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 06:57, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

This is just a suggestion, but I think it would be great if you can make the icons to have a round-tip instead of sharp one. Just a suggestion though. :D - SilverSummonerTaLk 07:04, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

This is to replace manual categorizing, save for those not on the list, right? --Silver Mage Ω 08:55, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

I believe this is solely for aesthetic purpose~ O.o or maybe I'm wrong. - SilverSummonerTaLk 08:59, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
This is correct. The Eras are an addition to the bottom-page categories. The Eras don't actually add an article to a category, it's just convenient and aestheticly nice. And sure, I'll look into round tips tonight when I get back from work. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 14:08, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

We need added icon for good articles too. -- D. Cello 18:33, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry, I got it all. I'm at work right now so just give me a couple hours. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 18:38, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Heading Line

I noticed on my work computer the title line runs through the Eras. This could be because my work PC sucks and often doesn;t display things correctly, but if anyone else has a similar issue let me know. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 14:36, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Are you using IE? - SilverSummonerTaLk 14:45, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, yes! --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 14:55, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
That's the answer, dude. IE sucks. Use Google Chrome or Firefox! :D - SilverSummonerTaLk 15:00, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
I always do! Unfortunately I don't get the option at work, lawl. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 15:08, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

I really like this template. However, I sometimes am quite confused about which of them "Assassins" is and which "characters" is. Perhaps we could change the one of the Assassins to the Assassins' logo, and the one of the Characters to... I don't know... a civilian perhaps? Should make it less confusing, and I'm sure it is not just me who is confused. -- Master Sima Yi 17:14, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the input. I'll change the Characters icon for sure. I'm going to keep the Assassins one as it is for now because I'm using the logo for the games, and frankly that's the best way to summarize them in one little icon. I guess I could always just use the abbreviations "AC" and "AC2" for the games, but I like the idea of using the official logos for icons. However, since I know it generally makes sense as we're using the cross for Templars and Abstergo logo for Abstergo employees, I'll do some tinkering and see what I can do to improve them. Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 17:24, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I think the Abstergo section is kind of unnecesary. Abstergo is just a cover for the Templars and one of their main fronts. I think you should just leave it at Templars. -- Master Sima Yi 17:32, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
*Shrug* It's there just in case it's ever needed. The beauty of Eras is that they can remain in the template but not be active. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 17:36, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
I know. I was just giving my personal opinion. And thanks for changing the Characters image, this is so much better. Thanks! -- Master Sima Yi 17:40, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
Not a problem, that's what I'm here for! While on the topic of Abstergo, the icon doesn't just have to be used for characters. If there's any locations or poducts that are directly linked to Abstergo, it can be used for them. And since Abstergo is a contemporary creation, it's can be used to define certain subjects. For example, Robert was a Templar, but not a member of Abstergo. Just a suggestion. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 17:45, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
I know what you mean. I don't have any problems with it :). -- Master Sima Yi 17:48, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Period Eras

Alrighty, I'm giving everyone a chance to speak up and let me know what they'd like to see used for the time period Eras. I was originally going to use architecture specific to that time period, or I could do something symbolic, say for example the Mona Lisa for the Renaissance Era. Any thoughts? --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 17:55, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

I was thinking about that just 10 minutes ago. However, I had no idea what images to use for it.

The Third Crusade, Rennaissance and Modern Times are hard subjects to put into one image... Yeah, the Mona Lisa is a good idea for the Rennaissance. I'm thinking about the Vitruvian Man personally. But you're the creator, so it's your choice. Perhaps some more periods, such as Ancient Egypt for Cleopatra and Amunet. -- Master Sima Yi 18:01, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Surely, makes sense to me.

Aha. I may be the creator, but this is everyone's Wiki, so I take great interest in everyone's opinions. If it were up to me, every icon would be that of a Tyrannosaurus rex. --Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 18:13, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

That would be an... interesting choice XD. Well, what about this for an image for the Third Crusade? -- Master Sima Yi 18:59, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Just a little comment... It's Rennaissance, not Renaissance. Double n. :) -- Master Sima Yi 19:18, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, you're right. Must have two n's in Dutch or something... -- Master Sima Yi 19:21, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed while I'm not logged in, that the Era Template is situated at the center whereas the Good/Featured Template is located at the corner. However, once logged in, the Era Template blends perfectly with the Good/Featured Template. (Which might be caused by those ads.) --Silver Mage Ω 03:30, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

They appear in the middle on my cell phone too, could be the ads yeah. Faded-Myth Discuss My Workload 03:47, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed Bloodlines

There isn't one for Bloodlines. --Silver Mage Ω 11:50, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Could the guy who made this or someone else be so kind to create another one for [[Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood]? I would, but I don't know how to do it. -- Master Sima Yi 10:07, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

I just need one of those square logos to add it. If you can't do it, ask User:Altaír to create it, I think he works with photoshop and stuff. Just give me the link to the file and I'll add the entry. -- D. Cello 17:05, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Has this been abandoned?

It seemed like an awesome project idea (just joined the community) but the icons seem a little rough and I'm happy to go through and try to redo them if they will be used, thoughts?

Left or Right?

Sorry D. but I genuinly think the eraicons are best suited on top of the infoboxes. Granted, on some articles where there are no other templates above the introduction they look quite nice on the left, however the vast majority of our articles do have someboth there, be it a {{stub}}, a {{sourceless}} or {{revamp}} notice. On top of these, the icons just look out of place and a bit ugly. Plus, they also overlap with the WP-REAL template if they're placed on the left. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 02:37, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

With this bloody oasis toolpanel, we have everything togheter at the right. Even our userboxes standard is on the right. Or we change the userbox, or we change this template. -- D. Cello 02:55, January 28, 2011 (UTC)
How about now? I've shifted WP-REAL over to the right, so it sits above the infobox. I might even be able to find a way to incorporate WP-REAL into the infobox, but I'll look into that another day. I still think they look weird when over a template box (ala Hidden Blade), but it'll do. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 03:44, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

Making template based off this for own wiki

So I really like this template and have tried to incorporate it into my own wiki. I've got the code down, but when I try to implement it on a character's page, the icons don't show up. Is there something internal that I'm missing? (Skye Hattori (talk) 19:43, December 21, 2012 (UTC))

Bright red

The letters in the icons for AC4, Recollection, and Brahman seem to be a brighter red color than the others. I don't know if there is some secret explanation for this, but I could probably fix it if needed. Evandrus Primæ (talk) 06:27, October 13, 2016 (UTC)
