The Da Vinci Disappearance

I think William is the one who saves desmond and puts him back in the animus at the end! Because I just saw a teaser for the next DLC da vinci disappearance.. the 2 voices again were argueing and they notice that desmond is remember something and one of them said something about getting him out of the animus but the other guy said no leave him there and the other dude said "yes, william"

to confirm the above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltnFfn0YSfg

EXistenZ! 19:02, March 8, 2011 (UTC)

If you download the Da Vinci Disappearance before finishing the rest of the game, you instead recieve an e-mail from "W. M." asking Desmond to help them by finding the information in Ezio's 1506 memories. 98.192.42.30 06:09, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Should I put this on the Trivia section? Because I found no mention if this in the page.

William M./Bill Miles

Has anyone given thought that Bill Miles and William M. might be one and the same?

Yes, we all did. But it's not confirmed, it's assumption, and therefore has no place on the article. Oh, and SIGN YOUR POSTS!!! -- Master Sima Yi 21:40, March 22, 2011 (UTC)
Also, if you listen closely, William and Desmond speak with the same specific accent. It's subtle, but it's there. - VulcanTrekkie45 05:50, 8 June, 2011 (UTC)
William Miles may be the Middle Eastern bloodline that came from Darim or Sef and his mother the Italian side of Desmond's family. I noticed too that Desmond has an accent that you can pick up if you listen carefully. However, no one can say that that's how it is for sure. Miles isn't a traditional Arabic last name obviously, but he may have changed it to make him stand out less. Where would you guys say the accent came from? HEPHAESTUS EMAIL NETWORK

Anyone disucussed about "HEPHAESTUS EMAIL NETWORK"? It appeared when Desmond recieved E-mail from W.M.

HEPHAESTUS is a god of Greek myths. He is a god of forging. And Cain(Origin Templar) is a blacksmith. Some people think HEPHAESTUS=Cain. I think this means William is one of templar. How do you think?

William Miles already...

So the AC Encyclopedia Trailer revealed that William M.'s M stands for Miles......so are we gonna change the name?

Il Falcone 06:10, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

The encyclopaedia reveals there is a character named "William Miles", that is all. It does not say that William Miles is the same individual as the one who had sporadic contact with Desmond's team throughout the events of Brotherhood. So no, we won't be changing the article title. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 12:37, September 5, 2011 (UTC)
Yes we will, Jasca. Sometimes your overly exaggerated strictness must make way for senseful logic. And in case someone starts bitching about my recent merge with the Bill Miles article, check this out: http://gyazo.com/71b4fac65ec66486f1a7f3c7ac58249c -- Master Sima Yi 09:08, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
Great job cross referencing with the screen image/tree. It definately adds more mystery to the series. I wonder where they are going with this story line? -- KaloneousHelpDesk 15:51, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
No Sima, my "strictness" is only following the polices we all agreed on. There is no concrete evidence saying that William M. is the same as the William Miles seen in the Marking Of video, and until I see something explicitly saying otherwise, I'm going to keep reverting such speculative changes. The same goes with your redirecting the Bill Miles article to this one, there is more than one family on the planet with the surname "Miles", so once again, nothing concrete to suggest to two individuals are actually one and the same. EDIT: Also, the lock on moving the article needs to be removed. --Jasca Ducato Council Chamber Assassination record 03:03, September 24, 2011 (UTC)
And you believe that Ubisoft would go on to make two characters with exactly the same name? Besides, the line that I gyazo'd links the The Fall to Revelations, and seeing as there aren't multiple Bill Miles or William Miles in the series, they are the same person. Regarding William Miles being William M.; if they were seperate characters, they would have listed them both on the characters list, but they didn't. -- Master Sima Yi 08:31, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

William Miles =Desmond's dad?

Does anyone besides me think that William Miles might be Desmond's dad?

Tell me what you think. ThePingoEagle 12:08, November 1, 2011 (UTC)

Well, I think they established in AC1 that Desmond's parents were just random assassins. But, then again, most of the first Assassin's Creed has been retconned by later games, so anything goes. 24.57.171.109 02:52, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

I am pretty sure that William is Desmonds father. If you read the comics about the boy who has a soviet ansestor(The Fall), it is shown that Desmonds Dad is on the Farm during the Events which take place in the comic. unsigned comment by Subject 12, Leandro Amorim Downie (talk · contr)

The Fall never says anything about Desmond's dad, let alone that he is on the Farm. -- Master Sima Yi 14:59, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

Voice Actor

Can it be confirmed that his voice is provided by John de Lancie, who is best known for playing the recuring role of Q on Star Trek TNG? 24.105.183.2 14:24, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, the following link confirms that it is de Lancie, but also contains a spoiler, so read with care. http://twitter.com/#!/johndelancie/status/116590886925778944 24.105.183.2 17:13, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

I had a feeling it was him. --24.57.171.109 01:07, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

Death?

I just realized that the way you guys talk about William yu make it sound as if William is going to be killed sometime in future Assassin's Creed games. For example "He had one son, Desmond" instead of "He is Desmond's father" Do you guys know if he's going to die in future?

The Great Dog Demon 16:09, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hi TGDD, no one knows such details yet but because the manual of style (MoS) states that article relating to ingame universe material should be written in past tense in may appear that way. I hope that helps. -- KaloneousHelpDesk 16:49, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

SPOILERS

Speaking of Williams's death, when Abstergo say they know his location are they speaking of the Grand Temple? How would they know he was there? He only recently discovered the coordinates and left Italy for New York. Or do they mean they've found the location of his normal hideout? To paraphrase, do you think we'll encounter Daniel Cross and Ebstergo's retrieval team in AC3 at the Grant Temple?

Appearance in the first game?

I just remembered that in the first game when Lucy coordinates a rescue mission for Desmond, she's talking to an anonymous person... maybe it was William?

There was an email conversion, and the person Lucy was talking to told Lucy to keep Desmond in the dark. I know we don't know much about William yet, but I feel like he wouldn't want his son knowing he was behind his rescue. He also had a working relationship with Lucy, so it's a possibility.

Probably impossible to prove though, but it's food for thought I suppose.

Appearance in Brotherhood?

Since Assassin's creed Initiates reveals Vidic was the "William M" in contact with Lucy, does that mean William never contacted the assassin's in Brotherhood at all? unsigned comment by Templar king (talk · contr)

No. Some emails were sent by Vidic, some were by William. William is also in The Da Vinci Disappearance. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 21:29, November 3, 2012 (UTC)
William was e-mailing Shaun with updates on the other Assassin teams, Vidic was the one e-mailing Lucy. Eggy2504 (talk) 21:31, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

Why isn't there a Trivia on William? :o He seems to have a decent # of things to add. Subject 9 (talk) 02:18, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

William beating Desmond.

So, I have seen absolutely no reference to this on the wiki but judging by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0ArtclcMrU at about 2:24 it implies William used to beat desmond. "Oh, you thinking about hitting me again? Because this time I will hit back". Thoughts? Did William hit desmond earlier in the game and did I just not notice it?184.20.84.164 10:50, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

Apparently you didn't see the little exchange following end of sequence 3 between these two. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:10, December 5, 2012 (UTC)
In any case, Anon, yes. William hits Desmond. Hoodie! =D - How'D'Ya Feel? 16:23, December 5, 2012 (UTC)

Mentor or not?

Hey I got the AC Essential Guide today and in it states that there's been no mentors after the one killed by Daniel Cross, while William and Gavin are the leaders and it's "recently rumoured William Miles had become mentor" so I'm just wondering if this saying he's mentor is based on a different source and the book is wrong or an asumption. JuhaniOtsoBerg (talk) 01:19, November 21, 2016 (UTC)

Different Voice actor in Origins

i hope you guys played origins i wont spoil it but his VA in this game sounds different did he get a third change? (Lionel Head (talk) 16:37, October 29, 2017 (UTC))

Yes. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 17:20, October 29, 2017 (UTC)

There is no way it is John de Lancie in Origins, sounds nothing like him. Nor is there any official source to who the voice actor is. This needs updating Kellyc7c (talk) 14:32, May 16, 2020 (UTC)

IMDb listed him as the VA. XOdeyssusx (talk) 11:26, May 16, 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, but that has no source either. Compare the voice in origins with the voice in Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed Revelations. John de Lancie has a very distinct voice, he's easily recognisable in those two earlier games, but the VA in Origins sounds nothing like him. Kellyc7c (talk) 14:32, May 16, 2020 (UTC)
