Proto-Templar Group

Is it another group of the precursor of Templars? And what relation between Cult of Kosmos and Order of the Ancients? -- A.gao.96 (talk) 08:11, June 13, 2018 (UTC)

Just tossing ideas here, but I'm thinking each group evolves into the other. I'd say the Cult follows an abstract belief in "Order", which is turned into an ideology by the Order of the Ancients, with a concrete methodology emerging sometime between the end of The Hidden Ones (DLC) and when they formally organized into the Templars. But again, just making wild guesses. -- Darman (talk) 03:40, June 13, 2018 (UTC)
BTW, you can add your signature by typing 4 tildes after your text, like so: ~~~~
The Order of the Ancients was created by the Pharaoh Smenkhkare circa 1334 BC, so it exists during the event of Odyssey, but maybe they joined together after that. Maybe also the hero created a group of proto-assassins who joined the Hidden Ones later.Francesco75 (talk) 07:07, June 13, 2018 (UTC)
Wasn't it stated somewhere (Database entries for Syndicate, maybe?) that all over the world, at different times, same ideas popped up? As in, there are Assassins in Egypt (Origins), in Greece, in Mayan culture...and they have preciously little (apparently) to do with each other, before 'meeting up' somewhere down the line. Guessing this is how i reply to the previous talk topic. But yeah, in one form or another around the ancient world, the ideas carried by the Order of Ancients and later the formed Templar Order would exist. Much like there were groups similar to the Hidden Ones, before they united to form siad order, there were possibly groups that were founded on the ideas of hte Order of Ancients that possibly were puppet or smaller organizations under their control or would go on to be one of the groups that united to form said order. This group currently has its sight set on the control of Greece, much like the Order of Ancients set its eyes on Egypt and restoration of a society and order to their liking. I am guessing after Ceaser the order began to think bigger. Why just Egypt and Greece when the (current time) known world should be their target. With groups like this already existing in the country, it would not take much to convince them to unite and think bigger.

Also recall the words of Mary Reed in AC 4. How they arrived and got along with the natives, who carried a similar if not almost mirror belief to the Assassins. There would bound to be groups that were not formally a part of the organization but would either join or become a ally to them.

Daughters of Artemis?

They're listed as puppets/allies/whatevers of the Cult. Can anyone point out the source for this? Sadelyrate (siniath) 17:54, November 21, 2018 (UTC)

The Dagger/Neritos

What's the source for The Dagger/Neritos working for the Cult? Sadelyrate (siniath) 12:08, January 25, 2019 (UTC)

Dialogue in the mission says they’re financed by the Cult. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 14:27, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
I'm gonna have to dig that up, 'cause that doesn't ring a bell.Sadelyrate (siniath) 14:49, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
Nope, no such comment is made in the quest texts/dialogue. It's mentioned that the Dagger seems better funded, connected and organized than usual, but no suggestion is made as to why or who, afaict. If you can find proof otherwise, please share.Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:12, January 25, 2019 (UTC)
I don’t think it’s set dialogue but contextual while sailing around the islands and encountering a bunch of enemy ships. Unfortunately, I’ve already done the questline and don’t have a save of it nor can I find a good video by someone else with it. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 01:16, January 26, 2019 (UTC)

Survivors join the Ancients?

We're only shown a select group of members and leaders in AC Odyssey, so it is possible that there were survivors that went on to join the Order of the Ancients, thus making the cult a Templar precursor like the Ancients? ~« SkyGuy Wikia Writer - My Talk »~ 22:13, April 7, 2019 (UTC)

The cult and the Order/Trivia and Behind the scenes

Is there confirmation of the relation between the Cult and the Templar Order? The game never refers to the cultists as similar to the Templars, but the opposite. Pythagoras defines the Cult as hermeticists who "felt in the arms of chaos" (A nice quote to add in the article btw), and Kassandra says to Layla that she opposed to chaos, while Layla answer saying she now serves to chaos, but before served order (Templars/Abstergo), therefore establishing a clear opposition between the Cult and the Templars.

Also, why in this article there is a section called "Behind the Scenes", when all the other articles have a Trivia secion?Heitor d'Araújo (talk) 20:15, October 27, 2019 (UTC)

Whether the Cult is considered proto-Templars is up for debate. But anyone saying it is has yet to provide a valid citation. As for the BtS, we are using that to distinguish from Trivia what points are OoU and what are IU. It just hasn’t been applied to all articles yet. Lacrossedeamon (talk) 00:24, October 28, 2019 (UTC)

You have made a small mistake, it seems to me

It is not a very good idea that a single page is blocked so that only high-level users can edit, everyone has the right to edit. Also I would say that the Cult of Kosmos is a Proto-Templar organization since they have several ideologies in common, such as order, their opposition to democracy, their search for Piece of Eden, control through chaos, etc. It is like the gladiators of Ancient Rome and the footballers of today. Why? Because the gladiators served to entertain the public through sport, and their amphitheaters were like stadiums. Kraken984 (talk) 4:02, 09 of May of 2020 (UTC)

The page is locked to prevent potential edit wars by basic users like ourselves. The Staff will open the page when they feel they have satisfactorily resolved the Templar/Cult issue among themselves, and no sooner. While I, too, would like to update it, bemoaning the fact that we are shut out will not make Staff decide any quicker. Further, you need not have copy/pasted the same message to the Templar talk page. Wiki users will see it fine once, and it is generally considered bad form to duplicate messages without reason. I'm afraid I don't understand your analogy, however. How does the entertainment industry around ancient/modern sports stars relate to the Cult being the same ideologically as Templars? – Darman (talk) 03:25, May 9, 2020 (UTC)

Cultists of Kosmos are Proto-Templars. NON-STOPPING GAMER2009 (talk) 13:21, June 7, 2020 (UTC)

Why are we killing them?

I thought that the Proto-Templar group was that. We kill its allies and not true members. They are Templars.
