Takeru (died 1582), also known as The Silver Trader, was a Japanese merchant and a member of a Tamba silver-smuggling ring during the 16th century.
Biography[]
By 1582, Takeru was a member of the Akechi clan who joined a silver-smuggling operation under the leader Mai. Located at Genbao Fort, Takeru worked closely with Nycollaao de Castel Branco in the region and made sure anyone who was his way was dealt with permanently.[1]
However, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke met with Lord Hosokawa Fujitaka, who tasked them to dismantle the silver-smuggling ring. Following an invitation from Nycollaao de Castel Branco's personal effects, they found Takeru basking over the severed heads of his opponents in Genbao Fort. There, they assassinated Takeru and acquired a kanabō, Woe's Fog, from his personal effects.[1]
