They call me many things: Murderer. Cutthroat. Thief. But you may call me Sobek Hunter. This article is about a subject that lacks an official name and is known only by its nickname, title, or alias. |
The Sobek Hunter was a Egyptian hunter and a worshipper of Sobek who lived Thebes Nome in the mid-1st century BCE.
Biography[]
A worshipper of Sobek, the hunter and other people in the community noticed a team of poachers sent by their twin leaders Achaeus and Democedes to kill all the crocodiles in the area. Worshippers saw the disrespect and the hunter used the god's curse to his advantage, killing the poachers in the area. However, he was injured from the combat but was later found by the Hidden One Bayek of Siwa. The hunter told Bayek of the poachers who disrespect their commandments while Bayek offered to rid the poachers from the area.[1]
The hunter remained at his hut to heal his wounds, only to find the captain and his company arrive. Hiding, he watched as they burned down his hut. Afterwards, Bayek came back to announce the captain's death but the hunter admitted that the captain and his men just burned down his hut. Promising to find the newly arisen captain, Bayek advised the hunter to find a new home. The hunter agreed as he stated to go down south for safety. He wished Bayek the strength of Sobek before he left.[1]
