Siegmund "Ziggy" Visser is a member of the Assassin Brotherhood who is based in the United Kingdom, using a run-down and closed theater called The Stardust in the middle of Camden Town in London as his hideout. In 2016, he served as contact to The Crew, a group of newly recruited Assassins and worked as their field technician during their Animus sessions in order to locate a Piece of Eden Ziggy was tracking down.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Siegmund Visser is a character introduced in the Assassin's Creed Roleplaying Game. His nickname and hideout are a reference to David Bowie's persona Ziggy Stardust. However, a later line about playing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2000 implies he might actually be David Bowie, who performed there in June 2000 as part of his Mini-Tour. As the game's campaign is set in the summer of 2016 after Bowie's historical death earlier in January, this means he would have had to fake his death before adopting the Siegmund Visser identity. Complicating matters further, David Bowie has previously been alluded to in the Assassin's Creed series under his birth name David Jones; an internal 2014 Abstergo Industries memo from the Canadian Templar Melanie Lemay to the Inner Sanctum member Álvaro Gramática speculates that Jones was one of the Isu Aita's Sages given Jones' anisocoria resembling Aita's heterochromia and his penchant for taking on multiple ethereal personalities.[2]
