9th century Saint-Merri
Saint-Merri is a parish church in Paris.
History[]
In the late 9th century, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir visited the church in order to meet with Viking jarl Sigfred of the Elgring Clan. Atop of the church's tower, Eivor talked with Sigfred about their plans to set the catapults. Sigfred pointed to Defender's Rest as the perfect place for the catapults. Nearby Defender's Rest, Sigfred and Eivor saw an execution play out from the tower. Sigfred and Eivor saw how the brother-warriors Gozlin and Ebels were holding the ceremony. From the tower, both Vikings watched Gozlin giving a speech while an impatient Ebels executed the man seconds later. Not wanting to lose time, Sigfred decided to leave and set their plans into motion.[1]
From her travels, Eivor explored the church itself and read a note from Gozlin himself. Gozlin noted that siege was imminent and to have the wealth stored in the church's underground crypt. Eivor also located a chest within the crypt, which was blocked by multiple obstacles. After gaining entry, Eivor opened the chest and acquired a Tungsten ingot.[2]
