Rokkaku Katsuhime (六角 勝姫) was a Japanese markswoman and a member of the Kakushiba ikki.[1] The only daughter of Shōtei, a former daimyō in southern Ōmi, she accompanied her father in his battles against Oda Nobunaga, his exile in Kōga, as well as the defense of the Ishiyama Hongan-ji in Osaka alongside the Ikkō-ikki.[2]

Following the defeat of Akechi Kagemitsu in Sakamoto, Katsuhime was assisted in various tasks by Fujibayashi Naoe and eventually joined her organization.[1]

Rokkaku is a Japanese surname composed of two kanji: (roku), meaning "six," and (kaku), meaning "corner" or "angle." Historically associated with the Rokkaku clan,[3] of which the fictional Rokkaku Katsuhime belongs to. The clan's name was derived from their residence in the Rokkaku district of Kyoto.[4]

Katsuhime is a Japanese feminine given name composed of two kanji: (katsu), meaning "victory" or "triumph," and (hime), meaning "princess" or "noble lady." The name conveys the meaning "victorious princess" or "triumphant noblewoman."
