The Palace of Apries was a royal palace constructed by Apries, a pharaoh of the Twenty-sixth Dynasty of Egypt, located in Memphis. It was located directly across the Great Temple of Ptah and served as Cleopatra's residence in the city during her brief stay there in 48 BCE.
History[]
In 48 BCE, shortly after discovering the identifying details about "the Lizard", a member of the Order of the Ancients operating in Memphis, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa and Aya of Alexandria, his wife, came to the palace to inform Cleopatra of the Lizard's identity. Upon the revelation of the Lizard's identity as a priest of Ptah, the High Priest of Ptah, Pasherenptah, identified him to be Hetepi, who was one of his closest advisors. Pasherenptah later gave Bayek his blessings, before the Medjay sought out Hetepi at the temple to assassinate him and end the curse plaguing Memphis once and for all.[1] Around the same time, Bayek also found one of the Papyrus Puzzles within the palace.[2]
