Desmond Miles navigating the unfinished Freedom Tower
The One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, is an office building in New York City, New York, United States. The tallest building in the US, it was built on the site of the original World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001. Construction took place from 2006 to 2013.[1]

In 2012, Desmond Miles' Assassin cell tracked down one of the power sources of the Grand Temple to an office penthouse in lower Manhattan. Because a direct infiltration would be easily noticed, it was decided that Desmond would parachute in from a higher vantage point.[2] On 16 November 2012, at 11:03pm,[3] Desmond climbed the then-incomplete tower, parkouring through the construction site, making use of cranes, hanging beams and power cables on his way to the top. Upon reaching the tallest crane, he took a Leap of Faith and parachuted to his target destination.[2]
