Nigel Galloway was a wealthy Englishman and the father of Rose Galloway during the 17th century. He was also the employer of Omar Khaled's father.
After losing much of the family wealth during the Great Recoinage of 1696, Nigel was forced to work alongside the counterfeiter William Chaloner by having his daughter Rose work for him, in order to restore his family finances.[1]

The last name Galloway is the name of the southwwestern region of Scotland. It is derived from the Gaelic i nGall Gaidhealaib ("amongst the Gall Gaidheil"), with the word Gall Gaidheil literally meaning "Stranger-Gaidheil".[4]
