Nidheim was the innermost region of the realm of Niflheimr, bordering the hot lands of Døkkerland.[1] Once a stagnant swamp, Nidheim was made into a wellspring of everything foul and corrupt by Níðhǫggr, who became its ruler and sucked upon the roots of Yggdrasil found throughout the land.[2][3]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time at Niflheimr, the Isu battled his way through Nidheim in his efforts to reach Hel at her castle, though also took the time to kill the druids working for Níðhǫggr in an effort to slow the spread of its corruption.[4]
