Kōdai-in (高台院; 1540s – 1624), formerly known as Lady Nene (ねね), was the wife of the Japanese samurai and daimyō Toyotomi Hideyoshi. In her later life, she became a Buddhist nun and founded the Kōdai-ji temple in Kyoto.[1]
In 1581, she became acquainted with Diogo, an African slave who became a retainer of Oda Nobunaga.[2]
