Muza ben Abel Gazan was a Moorish Assassin of the Spanish Brotherhood and former military advisor of Sultan Muhammad XII during the Granada War.

Biography[]

Descended from a long and prestigious line of cavaliers,[1] Muza was a renowned warrior whose deeds on the battlefield were the stuff of legends to the younger, more inexperienced soldiers. The leader of a cavalry division, he famously created his own fighting style that allowed him to easily defend himself against multiple enemies, forcing them to expose their own weak-points to be exploited by his lightning-fast strikes with his pike. Having seen him implement this tactic many times when on the field, his soldiers gave him the moniker "the Asp".[2]

Being the trusted military advisor to the Sultan, Muza was heartbroken when his Sultan decided to surrender the city of Granada to the Spanish. He was later given the opportunity to continue the fight against oppression by the Assassins and then joined the Spanish Brotherhood.[2]
