Mass Exodus is a memory in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
It is the first mission of the game, and takes place right after the events of Assassin's Creed II. After Minerva's speech, Ezio must escape the Vatican along with his uncle Mario, and destroy the Apple of Eden by dropping it in the Tiber River.
Before Ezio has the courage to drop the apple, Mario takes it from him. Then the two perform a Leap of Faith into the river.
After leaving the Vault, Ezio and Mario are met by a group of Cardinals in gathered in the Sistine Chapel. They are angry with the Assassins for breaking into their holy place and causing trouble. Outside, in an enclosed courtyard more Cardinals are gathered and are chanting the following prayer:
- "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the armor of God, the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked"
- ―The Cardinals Prayer upon the Ezio's escape[src]
Mario and Ezio then have to fight their way through the streets and use their Free Running skills to evade the Papal Guards and escape from the Vatican District.
Outcome
Ezio and Mario successfuly escape Rome and safely return to Monteriggioni with the Apple.
