Language of the Ancients was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[]
Kassandra followed Eppie's clue to a Mycenaean stele.
Dialogue[]
Kassandra headed to Lake Kopais, where the next stele was located. She dived underwater to the sunken Ruins of Arne, finding a locked chest. She looted valuables scattered nearby, finding the key to the chest. She unlocked the chest, acquiring a wax tablet, a stele, and a pair of gauntlets. She then resurfaced, returning to Eppie in the tomb within the Cave of the Oracle.
- Kassandra: Your clue was right. I found a part of the stele. Along with another piece 'of armor.
- Eppie: There must be a piece of armor with each missing stele.
- Kassandra: But why?
- Eppie: This section here refers to a ritual.
- Kassandra: It doesn't explain why the armor was seperated and hidden with a stele piece.
- Eppie: Maybe that was part of the ritual? We need to find the other stele pieces. Are you ready?
(Accept – I'll go look.)
- Kassandra: If we found these, then we'll find the other stele pieces too. I'll go look.
- Eppie: Even with the full keystone in place, some of the meaning may be lost on us.
- Kassandra: I have faith in you.
Eppie looked at the writing again.
- Eppie: Oh! You won't believe what this section says... "Of the primordial gods..." Primordial!
- Kassandra: That's interesting.
- Eppie: That's ancient.
- Kassandra: it could just be a prayer on behalf of the warrior.
- Eppie: That's what I thought, too. Until I read this part...
Eppie pointed to another section of the writings.
- Kassandra: There's more?
- Eppie: It mentions that the ritual will be activated.
- Kassandra: What ritual?
- Eppie: I have no idea. I'm presuming it means we need all of the steles in place before something happens.
- Kassandra: Do you have the location for the missing piece?
- Eppie: This text is hard to make sense of. It appears to be a warning. Be careful when you explore the Tomb of Orion.
- Kassandra: I'll be careful.
(If players choose "Why is the past important?")
- Kassandra: The dark ages has had its time. Why look backward?
- Eppie: There is truth and insight in looking backward. Take Homer for example, he often spoke of our past in his stories.
- Kassandra: Hmm. So digging through dirt and cobwebbed words is your ambition?
- Eppie: My role is to breathe life into the ancients.
(If players choose "What about your peers?")
- Kassandra: Do any of your peers support you in this?
- Eppie: None. My ways are too different for them.
- Kassandra: If you're right, you'll gain their respect after this.
(If players choose "What if nothing happens?")
- Kassandra: Do you worry that your expectations are too high? It may be a dead end.
- Eppie: How can it? The clues have proven me right thus far. The stele mentions a ritual that once performed, will activate something.
- Kassandra: What does that have to do with primordial gods?
- Eppie: I have no idea. When we have all of the stele pieces. we'll know.
(If players choose "Leave – Goodbye.")
- Kassandra: Time to go.
Outcome[]
Kassandra helped Eppie to locate one of the steles and was tasked to find more.
