Anne Isabella Noel Byron, 11th Baroness Wentworth and Baroness Byron (née Milbanke; 1792 – 1860), best known as Lady Byron, was an English mathematician and mother to computer programmer, Countess Ada Lovelace.
Biography[]
Previously married to Lord Byron, Lady Byron once taught in a school within Ealing. There, she found a young yet exceptionally gifted boy named Simeon Price and offered to teach him herself. However, the tutelage was short-lived as she casted him out after Price did not divulge on Ada's activities. However, as time passed, Lady Byron grew to take care of her sickly daughter Ada. In Ada's final years, the baroness reluctantly allowed Ada to work with other mathematicians as well as foster a friendship with the French acrobat, Pierrette Arnaud.[1]
After Ada's death,[2] Lady Byron remained to be grandmother to Ada's children, Anne Blunt and Byron Ockham until her death in 1860.[3]
