Labors of the Keeper was a virtual representation of one of Kassandra's genetic memories, relived by Layla Hassan through the Portable Animus HR-8.5.
Description[]
Kassandra returned to Hades after performing numerous tasks to atone for her killing of Cerberos.
Dialogue[]
After helping Hades with his tasks, Kassandra returned him at the Passage of Souls. There, Hades sat on his throne while his hounds attacked Kleon. Hades spotted Kassandra approaching.
- Hades: Ah, Kassandra returns. Victory written across her face.
The hounds dragged Kleon away.
- Kassandra: Where's your brother? Not here to settle any bets?
- Hades: It's already been settled. He lost.
- Kassandra: The gates have their guardians, Charon's lost souls have found peace. Now, tell me what you know about the Staff.
Hades laughed.
- Hades: I never promised you that. I promised to fulfill your destiny.
- Kassandra: Enough games, Hades. I did as you asked. We had a deal.
Hades rose from his throne menacingly and towered over Kassandra.
- Hades: You were never in a position to bargain with me. Your life was mine the moment you killed Cerberos. I could have had anyone place guardians at those gates. Truth is, I needed you to grow accustomed.
- Kassandra: What are you talking about?
Hades leaned casually against his throne.
- Hades: Oh, did I not mention? I have a fifth gate, and you're going to spend the rest of eternity protecting it. That is your destiny.
- Kassandra: I didn't bow to your wife, and I won't bow to you.
Hades picked up his throne and threw it towards Kassandra, who dodged it. He brandished his axe.
- Hades: Oh, you'll fucking bow.
Hades and Kassandra engaged in combat. Hades unleashed a series of attacks at Kassandra, which included launching several Orbs of Hades, dashing forward with his weapon extended, and telekinesis.
- Hades: Shame it has to end this way. You'd have made an excellent addition to my dead hero collection.
- Kassandra: Collect this!
Kassandra dealt significant wounds to Hades.
- Hades: All you pathetic humans end up here eventually. Why fight it?
Kassandra and Hades continued to clash. Hades began conjuring protective auras on his armor to mitigate Kassandra's attacks. The protections were no match for Kassandra, and she wounded him further.
- Hades: Last chance. Work for me or suffer forever.
- Kassandra: Listening to you, I've suffered enough.
Kassandra defeated Hades, who collapsed to the ground bloody and out of breath. Despite this, he began laughing.
- Kassandra: I don't see what's funny.
Hades sat up.
- Hades: You act like any of this matters. But you're a prisoner wherever you are.
Hades picked up his weapon and pointed it skyward. The bridge became encircled with a projection of smoky black shields. Kassandra looked around before turning towards Hades.
- Kassandra: Maláka!
With their battle ended and Hades' last gambit to imprison Kassandra in play, she angrily raised her foot to kick him square in the face.
Outcome[]
Kassandra fought and defeated Hades after he refused to teach her what he knew about the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus. Hades later trapped her in the realm by projecting a shield around it.
