Kurush (died 480 BCE) was a Persian officer of the Achaemenid Empire who fought in the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BCE.
During the battle, Kurush defeated several Spartan soldiers before being knocked off a cliff by the Spartan King Leonidas. The two dueled in combat on a ruined altar overlooking the bay, and Leonidas emerged victorious.[1]
