Kristen Anne Bell (born 18 July 1980) is an American actress and singer.


Early life

Bell was raised in Michigan, United States by her mother Lorelei and father Tom Bell. From her father's second marriage, she has two stepsisters. From her mother's second marriage, she has two half-sisters and two half-brothers. She graduated from high school in 1998, after being heavily involved with her school's drama department.

After high school, Bell moved to New York City where she majored in musical theatre at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. However, in 2001, Bell left her university prior to graduation in order to accept a role in the musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.


Kristen acted in stage and musical productions before moving onto film and television, where she gained fame for playing the title role on the show Veronica Mars from 2004 to 2007; she reprised the role in a small theatrical feature film continuation of the series in 2014. She has also appeared on other television shows such as The Shield, Deadwood, and Heroes, and in films such as Pulse, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Couples Retreat, and her lead roles as "Beth" in When in Rome and "Anna" in Disney's Frozen.
