ACOD Kora Sword

Kora Sword

The Kora Sword was a type of sword used during the 5th century BCE. Originating from the Far East, this type of swords were not common in Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found this weapon in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

A Kora sword is a sword originating and used in Nepal and North India, mainly for both fighting and sacrificial processes, as referenced by the Kora Sword's description in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. They are commonly associated with the kukri, also originating from the same region. However, the model used for the Kora Sword in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is actually the recycled model of the Iron Shotel, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, which in turn is closer to a Mongelima mambele than a shotel.
