Doctor Kazui was an informant to the Assassin Brotherhood[1] and a descendant of the Italian Assassin Bastiano da Mezzo.
Biography[]
Around 2020, the Templars identified Kazui as Bastiano's descendant and captured him.[2] Some time later, Doctor Kazui managed to evade the Templars and pose as a guard in the Abstergo laboratory in Tokyo, Japan.[3] He began providing the Assassins with reliable information on the research being carried out by the in the lab.[4]
He learned of the Templars' plan of using a Staff of Eden to create advanced technologies, and then forcibly augment human subjects into super soldiers and left an encrypted memo in an Animus for the Assassins infiltrating the facility to find.[5] Kazui also managed to send them a DNA sample so they could access the genetic memory of Bastiano the Templars had been studying.[2]
The Assassins, having learned that their informant was Dr. Kazui, decided to locate and remove him from Abstergo's premises after having destroyed his DNA data in their servers.[6] They escorted Kazui to the roof, where an evacuation helicopter would take him to a secure location. Though he was injured in the process, the escape was successful, with Doctor Kazui informing them of Abstergo's active search for other descendants of Assassins who had knowledge of the location of the Venetian Staff of Eden before leaving.[3]
