Sir John Fastolf (1380 – 5 November 1459) was an English general during the Hundred Years' War. Fastolf led the English supply convoy during the Battle of the Herrings on 12 February 1429, which proved a disastrous raid for the French army.
Behind the scenes[]
- John Fastolf was later caricatured by the playwright William Shakespeare as the drunken hedonist John Falstaff in his plays Henry IV, Part 1 and Part 2, and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
