I wanted to ask you something. Which is… what's your name?

The title of this article is conjecture. Although the subject of this article is canon, no official name for it has been given.

Isabel's Apple of Eden was one of several Apples of Eden, leftover pieces of technology created by the Isu. Around 1524, it was acquired by former Assassin Isabel, then calling herself Colubra, in the Khmer Empire.[1]

Owners[]

Functionality[]

A particularly powerful item, this Apple of Eden had the power to alter its environment, feeding on the rage and despair felt by Colubra.[3] Animals were corrupted[4] and aggressive,[5] and even plants took on strange shapes,[4] while seemingly having their own willpower.[5] The waters of the Mekong were also affected at points, taking on an ink black color and smelling of corruption and decay. These effects were more pronounced the closer to Colubra's hideout the beings were.[5] Another happening ascribed to the artifact was the appearance of Sesha, a monstrous snake of gigantic proportions,[6] as well as "Hydras", snakes corrupted into taking on a similar appearance to Sesha and intrinsically linked to the bigger creature.[4]

The Apple was also able to project Colubra's memories[7] and feelings into the minds of others.[3]

History[]

Isabel was captured by the Templars, wounded, and taken in a Venetian ship to the Khmer Empire, where her enemies sought the location of the Apple. Alongside Isabel, the Templars also held several other women in similar states of exhaustion and injuries. Saved by an unseen archer who managed to kill their captors, Isabel was freed from the Templars,[8] and eventually managed to locate the artifact Templars had wished to force the women into locating, deciding to use it to help the women that accompanied her, seeking to turn the fear, anguish and hatred they had accumulated into strength, self-confidence and love.[9]

ACBOV Apocalypse - Isabel

Colubra wielding the Apple of Eden

At an open air market, Colubra decided to confront the second group of Assassins sent to stop her. Using the Apple of Eden to make it seem like she towered over others by several feet, she ambushed them, though they managed to defend themselves. Just as she should have collapsed from the combat, she hit her opponents with a shockwave and fled with her Furies while they were passed out.[10]

At a temple to the serpent god near Colubra's hideout, a pair of Furies performed a ritual using the Apple of Eden seeking to control Sesha. The Assassins diverted the ceremony, sacrificing a few Hydras they had captured before to weaken the giant snake instead,[11] though they did not manage to retrieve the Apple, which was returned to the hideout.[3]

Upon finally arriving at Colubra's sanctuary, the Assassins suffered the effects of the Apple, feeling their opponent's pain and despair. After defeating a number of Furies in combat, they attempted to seize the Apple so they could destroy it, though once again they were hit with a shockwave and thrown backwards. In addition to that, they were assaulted with visions of devastated landscapes, war and famine until they lost consciousness.[3]

Colubra took the Apple herself, but did not attack the expedition members. Upon their waking, she declared that they would not be able to destroy the artifact, but that she was ready to sacrifice herself to do so instead. As she made her way to the Isu temple, she was attacked by Sesha, who emerged from the ground and lunged at her. Working alongside her, the Assassins defeated the snake and allowed Colubra to enter the temple knowing that neither she nor the artifact would ever come out again.[3]
