Intervention is a mission in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Description

Micheletto confesses to Ezio that to ensure Pietro's death, he poisoned his wine. After sparing Micheletto, Ezio orders his apprentices to cut Pietro down from the cross. Unable to walk by himself, Ezio carries him to the closest doctor to counteract the effects of the poison and in return acquires the key to the Castel Sant'Angelo. Upon acquiring the key, Ezio notices a thief walking past the Colosseum and recognizes him as the man that was present at the Villa attack. Chasing him down, it is revealed that he is the traitor. Rushing back to Tiber Island, Ezio prevents La Volpe from killing Machiavelli, and informs them of the real traitor.

Dialogue

Intervention 1

Ezio's recruits guarding the stage.

  • Ezio: (To his recruits.) Cut him down.
  • Pietro: This was not in the rehearsal!

Two recruits throw knives at the rope holding Pietro to the cross. Ezio lifts him from the ground as he appears too weak.

Ezio runs through the crowd while carrying Pietro. A few mercenaries enter the Colosseum.

  • Mercenary: Ezio, we are here to help!
  • Ezio: Stop the guards!
  • Pietro: Who are you?
  • Ezio: Your savior.

The Doctor

Intervention 3

Pietro Rossi, being healed by a doctor.

Ezio gets Pietro to a doctor near the Colosseum;

  • Ezio: He has been poisoned.
  • Doctor: That pallor. Cantarella. Drink this.

He gives Pietro a vial.

  • Ezio: Hurry!
  • Doctor: Give him a moment.

A short time later.

  • Pietro: I feel slightly better.
  • Doctor: Leeches will lead to a full recovery.
  • Pietro: I cannot thank you enough. I---
  • Ezio: The key to the Castel Sant'Angelo. Now.
  • Pietro: What are you talking about? I'm simply a poor actor--
  • Ezio: Cesare knows about you and Lucrezia.
  • Pietro: Here.

Don't I know you?

Pietro hands over his key to Ezio. Ezio then notices a familiar thief.

Intervention 4

Ezio interrogating Paganino.

The thief starts to run away, and orders the nearby guards around the Colosseum to attack Ezio. However, he is able to avoid the guards, and continues to chase the thief, eventually tackling him.

  • Ezio: Why did you run?
  • Paganino: I--

Ezio takes the letter the thief was holding and notices the Seal of the Borgia, and realizes that this thief was the traitor all along. Ezio then threatens to kill him with his hidden blade.

  • Ezio: You are the traitor, not Machiavelli. (Pointing his hidden blade at the thief's throat.)
  • Paganino: Long live the Borgia! (Pierces himself in the throat with Ezio's blade.)
  • Ezio: Merda! I was right. I have to stop Volpe before he gets to Machiavelli.

Volpe and Machiavelli

Ezio hurries to Tiber Island to stop La Volpe from killing Machiavelli. When he reaches La Volpe, he is ready to strike Machiavelli from behind, but Ezio quickly approaches, and stops him.

  • Ezio: I have discovered the traitor.
  • La Volpe: What?
  • Ezio: One of our men, he was at the Villa attack. Here, he carried this letter. (Shows the letter taken from the thief.)
  • La Volpe: My God!
Intervention 6

Niccolò, Volpe, and Ezio talk about the traitor.

  • Machiavelli: This is good news.
  • Ezio: More than you know.
  • La Volpe: I am once again in your debt, Ezio.
  • Ezio: What debt is there amongst friends who trust one another?
  • La Volpe: Yes. Thank you for relaying the message in time. (To Machiavelli) Come Niccolò, it has been far too long since we've talked.
  • Machiavelli: I heard the Colosseum Passion Play took an unexpected turn this evening.
  • La Volpe: Really?
  • Machiavelli: It seems Gesù Cristo was resurrected three days early.

Outcome

  • Ezio Auditore obtains the key to the Castel Sant'Angelo, and the traitor who has been informing the Borgia of the Assassins' every move is killed.
  • Ezio prevents the assassination of Machiavelli by La Volpe.
  • Machiavelli regains La Volpe's trust.

Trivia

  • To achieve full synchronization, Ezio must not swim while returning to Tiber Island.
