Hatherton was a village, seven miles from Bristol, in England.[1]
History[]
In 1703, the Kenway family moved to a farm on the outskirts of the village from Swansea. Both Bernard Kenway and Linette Kenway raised their young son Edward Kenway on the farm while they conducted their business with the village locals.[1] At some point in his childhood, Edward experienced a moment of seeing the world light up without opening his eyes when walking through the town.[2] Within the next eight years, Edward was put to work, as he traveled and sold their wares in the village while his parents made more time for themselves. Fortunately, Edward had the gift of talking well with people but developed a drinking habit as well. Soon, Edward grew discontent with this work and wanted to be something better than a farmhand.[1]
