During the Peloponnesian War, this position was held by Aspasia, the partner of the Athenian statesman Perikles. Sensing discord within the Cult, she instructed the Sage of the Eyes of Kosmos branch, Nyx the Shadow, to share nothing she learned with the cult, only with her.
