German and British soldiers during the Christmas truce

The German Army was the unified ground and air force of the German Empire between its unification and defeat in World War I.[1]

History

On 24 December 1914, during WWI, a German Army artillery hit British Army trenches for some time before halting unexpectantly and began to sing,[2] projecting their voices to make their christmas carols heard by the British troops. Some of their soldiers walked out into no man's land without any weapons, calling a truce.[3] Both troops traded gifts and mingled.[4] This regiment included German general and Templar Erich Albert, who was assassinated that same day, by a British Assassin medic.[5]
