Gamo Morinari (died 1582), also known as The Sword Hunter, was a Japanese daikan who presided over Nomura Village, Ōmi.
Biography[]
Gamo Morinari worked as daikan of Nomura Village. However, he grew to be brutal and paranoid of his subjects, thus he confiscated all weaponry from their homes to impede any opposition. He, along with other daikans, later allied with the Shinbakufu to financially aid them in exchange for protection.[1]
In 1582, Kuma, loyal bodyguard to Lady Oichi, met with the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke about hunting down a group of corrupt daikans. They agreed to help and began to track down the corrupt daikans. Arriving at Nomura, they heard Morinari taunting his servants while he ate in front of them. Confronting him, Naoe and Yasuke assassinated Morinari, ending his rule over the village, and acquired the katana Widower's Solace, from his personal effects.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Out of all the daikans in Assassin's Creed: Shadows, he and Endo Riku are the only ones to wear armor.
