Where Assassin's Creed Should Go
I feel like Assassin's Creed has lost its way. Maybe it's just me but I resent the fact that muskets and flintlock pistols are in the game. And after the AC3 modern day storyline, the modern day story sort of sucked when you play as "yourself" as an analyst at Abstergo that is a mute. That whole idea where you play as yourself is very immersion breaking. While hacking the computers revealed so pretty neat information it didn't really go anywhere. And Edward didn't even become an Assassin? I know he does later but not in the game. The crafting system was cool as was the naval combat but it got pretty stale pretty fast. I feel like AC has drifted away from it's core. They took away armour and while you did get to craft your own in ACIV I certainly didn't feel any sense of accomplishment when I completed crafting all of it. How cool was it in AC2 when you got to Venice and you bought the metal/plate armour? Or when you save up for the awesome looking missaglias armour? Buying better armour was so cool and something worthwile to save up for. And after completeing all the tombs and you were able to get Altair's Armour? But their is none of that now. Now the weapons have taken a turn for the worst. In AC3, all the swords you could buy looked exactly the same. And the stats of the weapon didn't matter anymore. Also, the fact that now in AC3 and Black Flag you use a sword like Connor uses his thomahawk is really annoying. All you can really spend your money on is upgrading the Aquila/Jackdaw.
What I would love in an AC game:
Time Period:
-Anywhere in between 1000-1500s
Weaponry and Armour:
-Swords, Axes, Daggers, Greatswords, Bow and Arrow (It would be really cool as long as it wasn't like the terrible one Connor has), crossbow, hidden blades that you could customise, throwing knives, poison darts... you get the picture. No firearms, maybe the hidden gun as an exception but this would be before Leonardo crafts it.
-Leather armour, studded armour, chain mail, plate armour, damascus steel armour, basically armours that go well with the assassin robes, maybe their would be penalties for wearing heavy armour? penalties for wearing light armour? Also, an armour that you have to go cave diving for would awesome, something like AA, armour of brutus and Ishak Pashak Armour.
Assassin:
-I would love an Assassin that was born into the brotherhood like Altair that has been trained since he was 10 to be devoted to the tenants of the creed
Setting:
I don't really care what country it is set in. But I would like different cities as well as an explorable countryside. It would be cool if Assassin influence is non-existant and you have to restore it in the countryside by winning the hearts and minds of the people in the villages and cities. And have a return of something like the borgia towers/templar dens in cities, villages and forts. Now forts can either be taken stealthily by eliminating the fort commander, killing the captains and lieutenants of the garrison and also killing a fraction of the garrison and freeing prisoners. Or maybe you could have a full out siege where you and assassin recruits and mercenarys destroy the fotifications of the fort and go in guns ablazing killing every one that dares stand in the way. Obviously this way damages the fort and the player has to spend money on repairing it. After it is repaired you can upgrade defenses by adding catapults, archer towers and upgrading the gate to increase the time it takes for it to be knocked down. But you can also choose how many assassins or assassins in training you can put in the garrison. After you conquer a fort, it has contracts and missions to do to restor assassin influence and to increase the people's loyalty to the assassins. Owning forts and the surrounding villages inside that forts territory and shops in the cities produce revenue every 20 minutes or an hour.
I know this is like an essay, and I have a lot more ideas that I can't remember from my little brainstorm last night when I completed Black Flag for a 2nd time on PS4.
But is anyone else intrigued at what Shao Jun got from Ezio in that little box in Embers? And Shao Jun has a very awesome acrobatic technique that would be pretty cool. I would also like it in the modern day that you are taken to an Assassin stronghold where you see all the artifacts, armours and all that from past games. You see the codex on the wall, Ezio's robes from his three games on mannequine as well as Altair's Armour and the Brutus armour, you see connors, Edward's and Arno's robes as well as the Sword of Altair, Altair's syrian sword, Connor's thomahawk and Edwards dual swords in display cases. Just everything thats unique in the past Assassin's creeds that the modern day assassin's have found and stored. I know it sounds a bit jumbled but it looks a lot better in my minds eye ;).
So what are you guys thinking? Do you like the 1700s era or are you sick of it like me? Do you want an assassin creed game thats further into the past like I do or one thats set in an era after the 1700s? This is my first post so I hope I'm not breaking any rules or anything. I look forward to seeing your opinions on this.

- I think it should never leave the 1700s. Even if that means we won't see the English Civil War or the Napoleonic Wars. They should resurrect Ezio too, I'd love to see him in the 1700s, maybe some time travel too so Desmond can join the fun as well. --Alientraveller (talk) 12:32, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
- Please tell me you are joking. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:46, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
