Eivor joined Lif in his quest to eliminate a priest loyal to Wigmund.
Dialogue[]
Eivor met Lif and his warriors gathered in a small shelter near Walden.
- Lif: This priest blows as much air as a hailstorm! He cannot be allowed to keep spewing.
- Norse Warrior: Did you sail through a storm? You never mentioned.
Eivor approached and spoke to Lif.
- Lif: Eivor! A fine day for being out, no?
- Eivor: Soma said I would find you here, Lif. What's your plan?
- Lif: We're ridding the world of a priest who spouts praise for the ealdorman, and funnels tithes into Wigmund's coffers. So the plan is this... We sneak in, gut the priest, and return to Soma. That'll get Wigmund steaming.

- Eivor: How did you come to join Soma's army?
- Lif: We came to England together, sailing under Guthrum. The Great Summer Army the Saxons called us. When Guthrum left for Wessex, Soma stepped forward to lead. Something I would have liked to do myself.
- Eivor: What would you do if you were the Jarl of Grantebridge?
- Lif: I would run the city my own way. I would not give Birna and Galinn's opinions equal weight.
- Eivor: Do you not trust them?
- Lif: I wouldn't say that. It's more... Birna's boots are stuck in the mud. And Galinn's are in the sky. If death were bearing down upon us, I worry neither would have what it takes to carry us through.

- Eivor: You were there when Guthrum made Soma the steward of Grantebridge. How did that feel?
- Lif: Good fortune for her! When Soma took hold, the silver started flowing, and the people started dancing. She knows trade. I do wish I had been bold enough to put myself forward, to take on the burden and honor of running a city. But that is beside the point. Soma is my jarlskona, and I am her sworn man. No act of any god will change that.

- Eivor: As a master shipbuilder, what does your work require?
- Lif: Patience and love. I know each of our vessels as a parent knows their child. But building ships needs silver too. The hard wood, the tough fabrics, the expensive paints. The yellow I use, for instance... that must be imported. A high price for a happy color. I'm certain that's why someone stole my paints some weeks ago. Blasted thief.
(Leave – Enough talk, let's get to work.)
- Eivor: Good conversation, Lif. Now, let's take down Wigmund's man.
- Lif: Too right, too right. Wigmund's whelp awaits his reward. My warriors will distract the Saxon forces at the gate. You and I will find the priest.
Together, Lif and Eivor snuck through the area toward the church, while Lif's warriors fought openly at the gate.
- Lif: You know, I would much prefer a more straightforward approach. But for you, I'll try something new.
- Eivor: How kind. Now keep your voice down.
They approached the large church.
- Eivor: Wigmund's priest is in the church.
- Lif: Well, well. I may be a heathen in the Saxons' eyes, but this church is lovely. I know good craftsmanship when I see it.
Eivor and Lif entered the church.
- Lif: Ah! Look at this structure? The trees they must have hewn, the devices they must have used to lift stone! Solid work.
- Eivor: Are you in the midst of a conversion, Lif? Shall I steal a small cross for you as well?
- Lif: No! Never! Can't a craftsman drool over... other... crafts?
Eivor entered the church proper and found the priest.
- Anglo-Saxon Man: Lord Wigmund of Walden carries with him the blessings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We may be chopped, roasted, and eaten by these pagan cannibals. But our lives have meaning if they end in his name.
Eivor was spotted.
- Anglo-Saxon Man: Guards! Help! Help! Wigmund should have killed you all off the first time!
Eivor killed the priest.
- Lif: The priest's lies will not poison the shire any more. We should leave.
Before leaving, Eivor read a note she saw on a pulpit in an alcove behind where the priest had stood.

Father Cuthbert,
I want to thank you for your continued support. I must say I am charmed by your pupils. They are endowed with an obedience that I suspect can only be attributed to your wisdom and guidance.
Please, continue sending them my way. It pleases me to speak with such spry young men, eager to learn about the Order of the Ancients. There is much for them to gain and they are welcome to follow this great cause.

Eivor and Lif escaped and regrouped outside of Walden.
- Eivor: Well struck. We made short work of Wigmund's man.
- Lif: That we did. You've proven yourself an asset to us. I'll see you back in Grantebridge.
