The Illyrian Helmet was a type of helmet originating from Illyria, the western region of the Balkans inhabited by the Illyrians.
During the Peloponnesian War, the use of the helmet had spread south to Greece, where it was a common sight in both the inventories of blacksmiths as well as on the battlefield.[1]

Behind the scene[]
The Illyrian Helmet is a piece of equipment in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. There are many variants of the helmet, all with the same name and the same basic shape, but differentiated by their details. As such, Illyrian Helmet shares its models with a number of helmets in the game, including the Physician's Helmet, the Helmet of the Oracle, and the Bandit Lord Helmet. As its name implies, it is based on the Illyrian type helmet. However, it is depicted with a small nose guard which was not present on real helmets of this type.
