The Key to Olympos was an Isu artifact in possession of Empedokles, a Greek man who had proclaimed himself a god and garnered a cult following on Kythera Island. Described as a "key" to Olympos, it was infact a key to the Isu vault housing Brontes, a cyclops created by the Isu as part of the Olympos Project.
Around 429 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra helped Empedokles recover the key after it had been confiscated and stolen upon his arrival on Kythera Island.[1] Later on, they met at the gate on the Isle of Thisvi, using it to gain access to the Cyclops' vault.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Like the other 'keys' to the Olympos Project lairs in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the Key to Olympos bears a resemblance to the Phaistos Disc. However, instead of the symbols being arranged in a spiral, the version in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has them in two distinct wheels, around a plain center.
