Fanny Eaton (née Antwistle; 1835 – 1924) was a Jamaican artist's model and domestic worker.
Biography[]
Born in Jamaica, Fanny and her mother found herself living in England in the 1840s. In the next two decades, she found work as a servant and later a model.[1] In 1861, Eaton found herself at a party at the home of Mister Rossetti and his partner Elizabeth Siddal in London. On the sofa, she was met by Pierrette Arnaud as they discussed their recent events and the mention of any information about Oscar Kane. However, Eaton heard nothing about Kane as Arnaud excused herself respectfully.[2]
In February 1862, Eaton later met with Dante Rossetti at the Red Lion at a gathering between him and a newly-released Simeon Price. She mentioned that her husband had met with Kane, who Arnaud mentioned from the party. Once Price heard and asked her about Kane, she stated that Kane and another man were driven by her husband to Bath the day before. As Price left with the information, Eaton stayed to converse with Mr. Rossetti.[3]
