Emmett Scott (unknown – 1723) was a tea merchant in Bristol, the father to Caroline Scott, and a member of the Templar Order. Through his daughter's marriage, he was the father-in-law of the pirate Edward Kenway and grandfather of Jennifer Scott.

Emmett's association to the Templars was made known to Edward Kenway by the family servant Rose, upon his return to Bristol from the West Indies. She also told him that Emmett had caught smallpox, survived and transferred the disease to his wife and Caroline. He then arrogantly refused his daughter medicine, which resulted in her death.

These two factors led Kenway to plan Emmett's assassination, as a "tying up of loose ends", after which he would devote himself to the Assassins. Taking Rose hostage in one of his warehouses, Emmett and his henchman Wilson demanded Kenway surrender his weapons in exchange for her life. However, after Emmett defended the negligence which led to Caroline's passing, Edward shot him in the head, killing him instantly.
